Welcome seasoned riders,
If you been needing something a bit more challenging than a wide open fireroad, this route I've put together is scenic and fun.  This route has old hidden mines, exposed rock climbs, logs to roll over,  scenic panoramic views, boulder sections that look impassable, deep wet sand, large jumps to catch some air, sections to wheelie in, tall berms and off camber trail leading to switchbacks, including single track barely wide enough for dual sportbikes. There will be fallen trees and misplaced vehicle parts from previous attempted passings.
You won't find any Starbucks out here so please bring your hydration packs.  Be prepared for possible wildlife like scorpions, tarantulas and rattlesnakes.
A  lic plate is recommended as there are a couple of optional slab sections.
The trail takes about 3.5 hours to complete so please plan accordingly because there will be no turning back .
FUEL SNACKS AND DRINKS AVAILABLE AT SHELL GAS STATION .
A 4x4 chase truck is provided free of charge to participants.

Let’s Ride!!!
Saturday, 1/28, at 8 am,
meeting at Heritage Rd Chevron Gas Station
3272 Heritage Rd
Chula Vista, CA 91913
United States
We are thinking of riding the river bottom up to OMTT, OMTT to Dulzura, then the 94 to Tecate. For those that are up for some adventure, we are thinking about exploring along Humphries road at the crossing or following the wall toward Campo. Let’s see where the dirt will take us!
Ride is easy level, open to new riders. Be prepared for mud and puddles, maybe some water crossings.
Put on by our member Todd Scmidt in the SDAR Facebook Group.

A recent post has convinced me that we have some people unfamiliar with the "Pink Gate" area of Otay Truck Trail, so lets go ride a bit of it.  I will try to go scout it out a bit before the ride, I was out there before the rains and there were some washed out areas and rocks/ruts.  I'd say that it's "Noob Friendly" but if you're a new rider on a 600 pound bike you may not enjoy all of it.  There are areas that are intermediate+ but I will do my best to avoid those during this ride, I don't have fun on them on my big dual sport but if you do feel free to explore on your own.
Meet at the 7/11 gas station on Hwy 94 (By Brody's Burgers and Beer) around 0900 and be ready to roll at 0930.  Expect a few hours, slower pace with stops to BS and take pictures if you want.  I'm in no hurry, races are in the desert most Sundays if you want to go fast.
