Strega 0 Posted July 8, 2010 http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/mcy/1831301650.html Also see: http://www.terramostro.com/ One of only a dozen built, this bike started life as an S2R 800 Monster before being converted by Overland Motorcycles in San Francisco (http://www.terramostro.com). Most were built from 695 Monsters, although I understand they recently built an 1100 for Jesse James (citation needed). The entire front end is Honda XR650R, which has won innumerable Baja races, so it's plenty stout for this application. There are too many other details to list. Suffice it to say this is a seriously fast dual-sport, and is not for the faint of heart. 3000 miles.
bikeslut 1 Posted July 8, 2010 There was an article on Highland Motorcycles in Motorcyclist this month (and somebody linked to the site before on SDAR) they have a 1000 cc dirt bike... a REAL dirtbike... only 22 pounds heavier than their 450 cc MXer... detuned to 85 horsepower Really... I "get" the adventure bike thing and even the 990SE to some degree, but how big does anybody think the market is? kudos to anybody that has the motivation to build something new, though
KTMrad 512 Posted July 8, 2010 That thing looks cool ! But I've got my '95 Ducati (Cagiva) 900 Elefant that I only paid $4200 for, and have only put a few grand into it for upgrades, etc....so it's still a lot less than that bike. If their weight figures are accurate, my Elefant weighs about 40 pounds more. If I had the money, I'd probably go buy it just for the hell of it.

TrophyHunter 15 Posted July 8, 2010 Very cool bike. Ran into the builder with two new owners as they were gassing up in Rancho prior to heading out 94 to cross at Tecate. Nice guy and incredible looking bike in person. 12,500 is about half price if I remember correctly.
