Garmin Repair Shop?

Recommended Posts

Anybody know of a shop that will fix a Garmin 60CSX? Murphy's Law kicked in today on Lusardi. Gps turns on but will not find signal. The Gps landed on the antenna and must have broke it off

Call Garmin, get an RMA #, send it in. I think they are in Peola Kansas if I'm not mistaken.

The below is from Garmin's website:

Contact Garmin Technical Support to receive an RMA number.

Call or e-mail a Garmin Technical Support Specialist to describe the problem and request a return material authorization (RMA) number. You will need to provide the unit's serial number (if applicable), your return shipping address and a daytime phone number.

Phone: 1-800-800-1020 or 913-397-8200

Fax: 913-397-8282

E-mail: Tech Support

Ship the unit, along with the RMA number, to Garmin.

Once you have received the RMA number, you also will be told what dock number to include in the shipping address. Ship the unit (insured) to the following address and include the assigned dock number:

Garmin International

1200 E. 151st Street

RMA Number: (insert your RMA number here)

Dock Door (insert the dock number here)

Olathe, KS 66062 USA

Thanks for the help.......Called Garmin yesterday and explained the damage report of my GPS. They told me that it could not be repaired and I could send it in with $110 + tax for a refurbished unit. Instantly I thought that I may need to spend more money and replace with another model instead of buying a refurbished unit of the same model. After all.....$110 is $110!

But I knew that I really like my 60CSX and could not think of another unit I would want that was not going to break the bank. So I broke out my wheel and deal card. I got them to give me a refurbished unit for $55 + tax. After they receive my broken unit it will take ten days for me to receive the refurb unit.

I did also tell him that I cannot find my CD for Garmin topo maps and would like them to load the program in my new (refurb) unit. He said that they will not load programs in units but MAY give me a unlock code to download. I am not very optimistic that will happen. :(

$55 is so far, the best I've heard yet!!

... how in the heck did ya do that?! (you can PM me if you care to share silently) :lazy:

I had to upload Mapsource (trip and waypoint manager) files to a 4shared account, as I lost my CD and was away from home. It's painstaking to download back off the 4shared site, but it's a lifesaver when your out and about... with no way to upload/download off the GPS (other than using 3rd party apps).

.... if you ever need to download the CD version, I can help. It just takes a PM.

I just sent my 60CSX in today, it will be $110 + shipping for a total of 120.18. Still much better than $300 if they didn't have this replacement deal. Ken

I had to do a lot of arguing with the guy on the phone and told him that I was prepared to buy from another manufacturer instead of pay $110.....I offered him $50 and he said he would talk to his supervisor. When he came back on the phone he said his supervisor would do it for $55.

I guess that me using the "economy" in my speech worked
