I will be headed out to the desert near the town of Ocotillo to do a quick camping trip Saturday afternoon if any one is interested. Thinking about leaving around noon from East County. A couple miles of dirt/sand to get to the camp spot.

Dave just remember if you venture into ABDSP land that campfires on the ground are not permitted (closed barrel is okay). If on BLM land you are good to have one.

NW of Ocotillo will run into the state park quickly but NE of town is BLM land.

Are you riding or just camping? Do you know exactly where your camping? I'm out in AB now in the Jeep and may or may not camp tonight.

There's a great spot behind the border check point by about a mile or two north/ north east  at the old dolomite mine.

It over looks Mortero wash
