Recommendations for easy "Adventure Ride" routes near Supers

Can anyone recommend some easy "Adventure Ride" style routes near Superstition? Some friends are heading there the weekend of the 12th and 13th to go play around in the dunes and I'm planning on riding my KLR out to meet them. I'm not really interested in thrashing it around that weekend so I'm looking for some easy, low-stress routes to go exploring on. I've never been to that area, but I've heard about some mud flats that are supposed to be cool.

You can make the trek from Superstition to Ocotillo Wells and back, that's a decent run and fairly easy. Gas is available at the Blu Inn on weekends.
