Famas1904 0 Posted August 16, 2017 This is my first "dirt" bike bike. 2008 WR250r. Went to drain the coolant, removed 8mm drain bolt and barley anything comes out, 1 drop at a time. Removed the hose, drained it that way. Flushed the radiator, put the hose back on, filled to flush the system and nothing comes out of the drain. Even turned it on for a bit to remove air and get liquid moving and still nothing.
Ptkatoomer 114 Posted August 16, 2017 Are you removing the radiator cap to prevent a vacuum?
Famas1904 0 Posted August 16, 2017 Yes, cap was off. I replaces cap, ran it for a little, removed cap and nothing.
Ptkatoomer 114 Posted August 16, 2017 Strang. Does the drain hole look like it has any build-up that might be blocking the coolant? You could try removing the coolant and then blowing air thru the system to see if that clears anything with the drain plug removed.
Bagstr 294 Posted August 17, 2017 1. Lean it over L & R possibly. Have seen some need to be lifted high in front or something like that. Ask Crawdaddy,, Wait he is not big on maintenance. 2. I have no ideas.
PastaPilot 17 Posted August 17, 2017 Are you sure that's the drain bolt and not a water pump housing bolt? I know. Sounds simple and all but you did say it was your first dirt bike.
Dan Diego 41 Posted August 17, 2017 What I've seen is coolant "gelling" when two types are mixed. It's brutal getting it out if that occurs. So a warning not to mix the two main types of coolant.
