CVRick 42 Posted November 29, 2015 My front brake is making noise when I brake hard. I am planning on removing the pads to clean and inspect them. Do I need to remove the brake fluid reservoir cap before I remove the pads? Some info says maybe filing the edges can help, Also I might possibly apply disc brake quiet to the back of the pads. Any advice would be appreciated. If I need to replace the pads what is A good choice?
Cosmo 10 Posted November 30, 2015 Pretty normal when they get dusty. Chances are its just binding somewhere a little. Just pull your front wheel and they will pop right out. Check your rotor and make sure its not wobbly. Clean everything and just put it back together. My Husky gets noisy sometimes.
robertaccio 412 Posted November 30, 2015 Front specifically - do a thorough inspection, OEM are best (usually Brembo)and yes are $$ but not that bad considering how long they last, Braking brand OEM type are good too, but Ive even had EBC OEM compound pads squeal (OEM compound=sintered metal). spin wheel carefully watch disc for bend, pull pads and use fine sand paper to surface break them, do the same on the disc.
