97xr400r 122 Posted October 16, 2014 YEEEAAA! that was an awesome road trip! Rode to Alabama and back while managing to mostly stay of the interstates. When I left home I didn't have a route planed, I just knew I wanted to get back east without doing much interstate riding and do hwy 12 in utah. This strategy turned out to be fun because I really didn't know where I would be two days later which kept the surprises coming day after day. Day one, MAP Decided to take the freeway out of town to bypass all the local stuff I ride often, from then on it was two lane hunting... There is a section of the 66 that has some washed out bridges, if your up for a little sand it's not a problem to get off the road and down through the wash. Other than going around the washed out bridges day one was uneventful.

Temecula Tim 0 Posted November 12, 2014 Day 17 Map 20141014_075943_Richtone(HDR).jpg Thanks- I hit the Cloudcroft, Ruidoso, and Lincoln areas when I was here in Feb. Also did a run up to the VLA site and took a real cool road across the Navaho rez. from Pie town to Gallup. Road to the Gila Cliff ruins out of Silver Ccity was a 88 mile gem as well.
