KE6UPI 0 Posted January 7, 2014 Saturday the 11th. Anyone want to ride the back roads of the North County, Ramona or Temecula. Looking for an easy ride to learn on. The wife and kids are gone Saturday. I don't know the back roads so I would like to learn them as well. More riders would be great. We can meet for breakfast , coffee or just meet and ride. The group can call it. Saturday Jan 11 9 AM at Pala Casino Gas Station Route: Hwy 76 / Nate Harrison Grade to Palomar Mtn. Palomar Mtn. down East Grade to Mesa Grande Rd. Black Canyon to Ramona. TrophyHunter 15 Posted January 7, 2014 http://www.dirtopia.com/wiki/Palomar_Divide_Road http://www.socalcamping.com/offroad/Thomasmtn/Thomasmtn.html And the reverse of last weeks trip or combo. Palomar TT, slab to Warner Springs, dirt back to Anza, etc. Don't know if I'll slab it out to Palomar but we'll see. Just tossin' some options out there. Afry 1 Posted January 7, 2014 I'm out, did NE county last weekend and foot is resisting more dirt so I want to ride some slab and explore Harmony Grove/Elfin Forrest area after breakfast at Hernandez Hideaway. Will start a new ride post tomorrow. Have fun!

KE6UPI 0 Posted January 7, 2014 Check out the link to Google Maps. http://goo.gl/maps/ihhmV Just a dumb noob looking to ride. So please take a look and tell what you think. We could start at Hwy 79 / Halfway Rd or Hwy 76 / Nate Harrison Grade. 33° 21.159' -116° 44.477' 33° 20.800' -116° 44.698' 33° 20.223' -116° 46.709' 33° 21.425' -116° 48.962' 33° 21.657' -116° 52.410' 33° 21.500' -116° 52.303' 33° 18.746' -116° 51.759' PMVFD 33° 19.951' -116° 54.613' 33° 18.952' -116° 59.438' David
Wintyfresh 46 Posted January 7, 2014 Unfortunately I think there's a gate in the way. I can confirm Nate Harrison goes all the way up the mountain, tho.
TrophyHunter 15 Posted January 7, 2014 Seems that gate has always been closed. You can ride up and look through the fence at the observatory but can't go through the gate. Frustrating. I'm out as what I thought was a "kid" weekend is now a "non-kid" weekend. Usually some N. County folks looking to ride.........????

KE6UPI 0 Posted January 12, 2014 Too much fun.. So much that I dropped my bike. It is now battle harden. LOL We had 5 riders show up. Mike, Paul, Jesse, Micah and myself. Mike was using his Husqvarna 650. Paul was on his F800GS. Jesse using the KLR650. Micah on a Honda 250. Nice my the way. I was on a KLR650. Started out going up Nate Harrison Grade then over Palomar Mtn. We stopped at the old fire look out. Then we went down East Grade to Lake Henshaw for lunch. After that we went up Mesa Grande Rd over to Black Canyon Rd. We went down to Santa Ysabel Truck Trail and up to the gate. This is the road my bike kissed the dirt.. Got to the top and went back down to Forest Rd and jump on to Pamo Rd then out through to Ramona. Thanks to Paul taking point and leading us around.
