Trailering up on Friday, hoping to leave from work in Poway around noon.

Thanks again for the opportunity to improve my skills. My trip up & down black mountain was a bit of comedy; near the top I put my foot down in a rut (ground was about 6" lower than anticipated) resulting in a mild tip that bent the shift lever..which I didn't discover until starting back down, giving me only 1st and neutral...no problem I'll just coast down, and ride the rear brake, right?...wrong, riding the rear brake boiled the rear brake fluid...adding more comedy!

Have reservation @ Panamint, arriving Friday evening 3/7, ride Saturday, departing early Sunday.

I plan to be there, weather permitting.

Sorry i bailed, but maybe too far from home (1,600 miles for me) and too "rustic" of an environment for my experience level...so maybe next time. Had a nice easy cruise back to SD with surprisingly light traffic. BTW, It's easier to be brave in the sand with 4 wheels and a roll cage!:
