High above the High Sierra

Recommended Posts

Thought I'd share a few work photos from this week.

I took these somewhere between Bishop, CA and Inyokern, CA at around 14,500' MSL.

Shortly after departure from Bishop. A view South down the Owens Valley

I think I saw Randy up on this plateau

Climbing through 13,000'...On top of the world

Looking down at the mountains and into the floor of the Owens Valley below, roughly 11,000' feet below me.

Just enough haze to make a good picture

Still a little snow left

I saw this lake and waterfall just as I was passing it. It took me a minute to get my camera out, but I still got a good shot before it was too late.

A nice valley for rafting, riding, hiking, climbing, riding, sleeping, riding, etc.

Our majestic Mt. Whitney at 14,494 feet, is the tallest peak in the contiguous United States.

Thats it for this week. Next week I'll be in the planning my Beach to River ride. More pics to follow.
