    Total noob!

Damn that’s a stunning photo. Zoom in and check out that road patina. This image tells a story. Squad goals @Angela!
  2. Wow, this is a beautiful way to present your ride! Going to look into https://www.relive.cc/about.
  3. I am terrible with names. Photos are numbered, just identify yourself and add some context to the photo and I'll update the descriptions to match. Does anyone know the two KTM riders? That is @MikeEscoNYC in blue in the back. @Pokey151 on the left, and @Rjg967 on the camo KLR. @AcousticTie in the retro helmet, white gloves, and classic KLR, looking ready to take your girl. @AcousticTie is excited about his first real offroad ride. I can speak for the group in saying that we are happy to see new members and we welcome riders at all levels. It doesn't hurt to have a boss KLR650. @spazegun2213, our fearless leader and event organizer. @ECDave on his Super Tenere. @J5ive and @MikeEscoNYC, the group's experienced Harley Riders. I love seeing riders with tons of road miles expanding their horizons with adventure bikes. One of the best things about rides like this is new members meeting each other, swapping stories, and transferring knowledge. Here @J5ive holds court. Who is this on the left? That is @spazegun2213 and @MikeEscoNYC talking to him. @AcousticTie is always lurking in the background, working on stealing your girl. @DSM8 got a nasty sting on his wrist at the start of the ride and it bugged him... (get it?) the whole ride. @J5ive in gray on the left, @DSM8 checking out the bug bite on his wrist, and @AcousticTie in the Canadian tuxedo on the right with his awesome KLR behind him.
  4. Yeah man, sounds fun. I ride with @shutterrev, @moto_rph, and @PerigrinoRobbino most often. Good people, the lot of em.
  5. @Pokey151, meet @AcousticTie.

It really is an interesting bike. Confidence building, techy enough to be useful (it has a turn-by-turn navigation indicator!), cool looking, well built, and most importantly, it got my wife to learn to ride. I am proud of her work and happy to see her having fun.

YES! I kept mine well past the time that I needed it for my bum ankle. When my back is acting up or when I have one of those days where I Just Can't, I sit on that chair and just meditate under the hot water.

  12. Hey @padu would you add this to the calendar? It is a much better fit for this kind of thing thanks to an RSVP list, links to maps, and greater visibility to the community. I'm happy to write up a guide if you want, or you can use the upcoming newbie ride as an example.

Sending you good vibes buddy. If you want to have your 2-wheeled friends over for a beer sometime, let me know. I did ankle surgery years ago and recall the boredom of being on my butt for weeks. Bathing was a pain in the butt leg. Trashbags and medical tape are your friends. Is she on the forum?

Hey @Angela, Perry, aka @moto_rph rides with me and Nick, aka @shutterrev. He's wicked fast and could give you lots of good pointers.
  15. @padu and @shutterrev if this happens I’ll try to attend. I always have more to learn.

    [RIDE] Nate Harrison for Newbies

    until
[Note from Admin/Jesse: posting this on behalf of spazegun2213. I wanted an excuse to use the calendar and this was the first thing that came to mind. Keep an eye out for more calendar events! The full conversation is here.] Titles that also fit... "Come to watch bikes fall over" or "Don't forget leg day ride" ahhh and I could go on for a while. Well, after a post here and a few on the FB group it looks like there are a few local newbies that are looking to get out and ride. Sooooo I figure I'll "organize" a ride up/down/around Nate Harrison and then maybe food after (there is a pub close by that has amazing burgers). All of you that actually know how to ride are welcome to come and help us pick up our bikes, teach us a thing or two.... or just point and laugh. Where: Pala Casino Gas Station (click for Google Maps) When: 7/31, KSU at 8:30am... I'll try to be there by 8am Route: Gas station then up Nate Harrison (click for Google Maps) I'm 100% up to exploring more, but I don't know this area that well. Please bring: It goes without saying its going to be Hot... like melt your nuts off hot. I'd say bring about 2x as much water as you think you'll need, because you may need to give some to an idiot that loses their water while riding 🙄 Not that I've ever done that.... *cough* A snack is also a good thing... I'm new to this, and I can say after an hour of wrestling around with a 500lb motorcycle takes a lot out of you. Seriously, I *thought* muscling a 400lb sport bike around was a work out... my tiger just them to "hold my beer." first aid kit, They are nice to have, and for once I'm riding a bike that has plenty of room for activities! compressor, if you feel you need one. Frankly my tiger is taking a nap whether I'm at 15psi, or 40psi... but I'll have one anyway tools/patch kit, and their instructions.... uhh were newbies lol I'm sure I'm forgetting something, please feel free to tell me what it is and I'll amend this post.
  18. I have a Rabiconda and some tire tools. @shutterrev does too. I'm in San Marcos and he's further south. Save your bucks with tire changes and learn to do the work yourself, if you want, just hit me up.
  19. Added a venue choice. You can update your calendar entry @Bub_Hannah and set Main Street Coffee in Ramona as the venue.
  20. Can someone link me to a Google Maps entry for this Packards place? I can add it as a venue for events so that people can easily find it.
  21. I modified the title a bit and enabled RSVP... and event approved! You can also have the conversation part of the event there on the event page, just FYI. I am curious how the community decides to use events. Regardless, using the calendar will get more visibility to our rides!
  22. I just learned that our email domain, @dualsport-sd.com, has been cancelled or somehow deactivated. While fixing this, I am going to see what can be done about moving back to our actual domain, sandiegoadventureriders.com. In the mean time, site signups, notifications, and changes to email addresses have been impacted and might not be up for a few days at this point. I am working in the background to process signups and keep things moving.
