[CAMP & RIDE] One-Night Camping & Rides Near San Bernardino
padu posted a calendar event in Community Calendar
untilWhere: San Bernardino, Cleghorn Ridge and Bailey CanyonWhen: Saturday morning departure, return Sunday afternoonRoute: TBD Me and some friends I met at the Get On AdvFest are meeting near San Bernardino for one-night camping, then riding Cleghorn Ridge and Bailey Canyon. The idea is to catch some dirt on the way to San Bernardino, meet the LA people in the campground, and Sunday morning tents up and ride the 2 trails in the region. AFAIK, the trails are easy, with some challenging off-shoots if you are feeling inspired. Let me know ASAP so we can modify the campground reservation. It's filling fast. -
[RIDE] Two-Fer Tuesday "Romantic" Black Mountain Night Ride
Bub_Hannah posted a calendar event in Community Calendar
Last year (August I believe) a group rode up/met up on Black MTN for Twofer Tues ride.... Hung out, watched the sunset, and rode down in the dark. That was one of the best rides I've been on. Riding down the mountain in the dark was a magnificent experience. Who's in? Let's do this. Bring some Tacos, snacks, and a beverage of choice if you like. We'll meet at Main Street Coffee (formerly Packards) in Ramona tentatively @ 5:30pm for now...stay tuned for the actual time. Sunset is 7:39 pm. Ride difficulty level: I would say intermediate. You should be comfortable navigating a mountain trail with loose rocks/ruts in some areas....and doing so in the dark. Proper lighting is a must. See the thread here for info:-

until[Note from Admin/Jesse: posting this on behalf of spazegun2213. I wanted an excuse to use the calendar and this was the first thing that came to mind. Keep an eye out for more calendar events! The full conversation is here.] Titles that also fit... "Come to watch bikes fall over" or "Don't forget leg day ride" ahhh and I could go on for a while. Well, after a post here and a few on the FB group it looks like there are a few local newbies that are looking to get out and ride. Sooooo I figure I'll "organize" a ride up/down/around Nate Harrison and then maybe food after (there is a pub close by that has amazing burgers). All of you that actually know how to ride are welcome to come and help us pick up our bikes, teach us a thing or two.... or just point and laugh. Where: Pala Casino Gas Station (click for Google Maps) When: 7/31, KSU at 8:30am... I'll try to be there by 8am Route: Gas station then up Nate Harrison (click for Google Maps) I'm 100% up to exploring more, but I don't know this area that well. Please bring: It goes without saying its going to be Hot... like melt your nuts off hot. I'd say bring about 2x as much water as you think you'll need, because you may need to give some to an idiot that loses their water while riding 🙄 Not that I've ever done that.... *cough* A snack is also a good thing... I'm new to this, and I can say after an hour of wrestling around with a 500lb motorcycle takes a lot out of you. Seriously, I *thought* muscling a 400lb sport bike around was a work out... my tiger just them to "hold my beer." first aid kit, They are nice to have, and for once I'm riding a bike that has plenty of room for activities! compressor, if you feel you need one. Frankly my tiger is taking a nap whether I'm at 15psi, or 40psi... but I'll have one anyway tools/patch kit, and their instructions.... uhh were newbies lol I'm sure I'm forgetting something, please feel free to tell me what it is and I'll amend this post.

Please come out and join us for our 17th Annual Dualsport ride that takes you through Anza Borrego and Ocotillo Wells. We are staging at a new RV park this year. We have also added an alternate route so that people who do not feel comfortable with the "Squeeze" and " Heart Attack Hill" can circumvent those obstacles. https://dualsport-sd.com/DesertDash2020.pdf

Ortega Highway - Thursday 5/13
tubebender posted a topic in Informal Local Rides & Who's Going Riding!
I need to scuff in new tires on my Tenere so I'm going to head up I/5 to Ortega Highway, then return using south Main Divide / Los Alamos Truck trail / De Luz / Fallbrook. Leaving Vista Costco around 10:00 AM. Probably stop at Hell's Kitchen for early lunch. Any bike / rider welcome.
