Headed out late Sunday afternoon for a quick jaunt up Black Mountain Rd in Ramona to get a workout and enjoy the backcountry. Weather was down right beautiful out there. Hit Black Canyon road about 5 pm and rode up to SYTT. Then I headed right up Black Mountain Rd/Trail. The scenery was really nice with the shadows as the sun was setting in the west. Took a few pictures with my phone, so here is some bike porn of my DRZ.

Great oak oasis at the end of the trail.

Looking longingly at a wonderful trail just out of reach….

The bike had some problems with cutting out and surging in 2nd and 3rd pulling up hills. It made things a little difficult (and kind of dangerous) a few times. I need to get the airbox/jetting done soon.

I also found out that I need to train for this type of riding. I'm impressed with all you guys that are putting in 50-100 miles on dirt. I put in maybe 20 miles and it wore me out. Now…Of course I was doing my best impression of Ryan Dungey hauling up the trails to the top laugh.gif, but still…Need to ride more and do more squats to keep up with all you hard core riders out there. Hope to see some of y'all out on the trails soon. Enjoy...

I was right behind you. I rode the same trails just a little later and into the evening. Even though they are out and backs they are still fun and even more so in the dark.

are you going to Jon's on Saturday? Surging and cutting out?

Make sure to check float height too... disconnected the charcoal can yet? I still have the keintech fuel screw if any DRZers are interested... bikeslut pricing... Is the vacuum line clear? Pinched anywhere?

Sounds like more than jetting to me, but I am more of a hack in the garage than on the trail, so what do I know? Good luck on fixing that, though.

All...I'm planning to be at Jon's from 9 to noon trying to get the 3x3/jetting done and trying to figure out the surging/cutout problem. BS - thanks for the input. I was hoping that it was only the jetting causing the problem. I have not removed the charcoal canister or done anything to the vacuum lines. I'll try to check all that on Saturday, if time permits. Dsfox...Yes we need to ride soon while the weather is cool.
