Online Motorcycle Parts

Recommended Posts

I've found that the quickest and usually the cheapest place to get parts is at: http://bikebandit.com/

and here is a link to another decent place to get "Stuff": http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/

For online parts, I like this place.

http://www.mrcycles.com/

I think they're a brick and motor motorcycle dealer that also sells parts over the internet. I compared them to Bikebandit once, and they were a little bit cheaper. But what I like most about them is that they have online microfiche and I can easily find what I'm looking for. With Bikebandit, I have a hard time navigating their menus and finding what I'm looking for.

The times I've called them, I had no trouble getting a real person on the line. The person I talked to was actually a motorcycle parts guy who knew motorcycles and not just an operator with a nice voice.

Sometimes ordering parts over the internet makes me feel bad that I'm not supporting a local dealer, but it's just so much easier. If I go to a local dealer, I have to make two trips, one to order the stuff, and another to pick it up. If I order over the internet, I make zero trips.

In my opinion.......just my opinion.

I'd rather support local shops and doesn't matter to me that the internet is easier. I'd rather interact with people at a shop that I trust and have a good relationship with. I purchase almost all of my merchandise at various shops locally and get good discounts at each shop since I've been a customer with them for years.

I'm happy we now have another local shop that sells KTM, Motoworld....now I can order my parts there instead of over the internet.....and with my 20% SDORC discount, it's the best price around !!

I still like to check out the microfiche online. First, its a way to check for the right part before I get to the shop. Saves time and gives us a double check if one of us typos or has trouble finding the right OEM assembly. Second, it gives me an idea of the price and I can think about it ahead of time so I'm not under pressure to make a decision while I'm in line. Some parts you need now, some you have to ponder.

http://www.ronayers.com comes highly recommeded from ThumperTalk. Easy to use microfiche and beats just about any other website in price.

My local bike shop ( San Diego Sportcycles ) doesn't have to worry about me shopping online though, because their prices are always better than what I find on the net (or even at aftermarket manufacturers websites)... or they come up with a better or less expensive aftermarket part that I hadn't even considered on my own. Plus if there is a problem on the order I don't have to sweat any surprises on the returns.

Your right! Thumbs up to San Diego Sportcycle. They are small, well stocked, price competitive, and most important in my book, customer service friendly. I send my 17 year old daughter parts chasing for me without any concerns. They always bend over backwards to make sure we get what we need. I ALWAYS try them first.
