This will most likley look like a write up for the trials riders.

Sandiegoland, Joliet, Stevensyanara and I had breakfast at the Casino. Rideorange and Kevin showed up then papaalex. I led on some dirt I know to McCain to watch the trials rides. Here are some shots.

As I have said in the past, it is hard to take ride pics from the front without stopping the ride.

On our way to the event.

At first i could not understand why so many people were standing soo close. Then the rider fell and they caught him. Good support group! :P

There were a few blast from the past old school bikes, a yahama DT and Bulltaco trials bikes.

There were little kids, old guys and a few women riders. I got a kick out of the little kids. No stopping them.

I took my son to go see the event, so I drove my truck. There were 3 sections within easy walking distance of the campsite.

This pic is of an expert class rider. He's trying to go up a nearly vertical section with some loose rocks. The judge in the foreground is holding up one finger indicating that the rider lost a point for dabbing.

Carguy led a fine trail ride both before and after our trials spectating. A dirty and sandy good time! B)

Seeing the trials event by dual-sport is really the way to go. It's pretty spread out so it helps to cover some ground. I think the participants also appreciate the support. You can see from the photos how close you can get to the action.

I recognized a rider from Orange County who had joined us on an April Ride earlier in the year. This is Inte (from ADVrider.com)...

Hope to join you all on a ride soon........I blew 2 fork seals on my 950 on the LER Ride 2 weeks ago, I've still got lots of work on all 3 bikes, and I'm still slackin' !!

Randy, it might be easier, definitely faster for you to buy a new bike than fix yours.

You have been upgraded from SLACKER to SUPER SLACKER!

It was great to see you all out there! B) I went over there with my son and other friends.. just watched and did some riding... great picture's you guys!! I got excited watching these guys climbing those amazing rocks, so I went riding up there and slided down a rock, giving my perfect bike some ugly scratches and tearing my turn signal... Oh, well, that's part of the fun I supposed... :P

I missed the group due to over-indulgence at a Halloween party the night before,

but I did make it out there to the trials site to check a little bit of the action. It was a pleasure to see a few of the esteemed SDAR members still on site when I got there. Bikeslut and his posse asked if I'd like to tag along for a little dirtbikin', so we headed off to explore around the area. What a great spot! Oh man, it was sweet! We carved up a slew of tight curves, plowed through a ton of tricky sand, jammed through those rocks, and had an absolutely bitchen ride! Upon our return to the main area, I found myself drenched with sweat and pumped full of adenaline. After some tastey beef jerky, I departed to head back down the 94 twards the beach. I'm sure you can all make a good guess at atleast some parts of my route heading west. I found this cool lookout along the way. Viva Mexico! B)

nice to see you all this weekend. Good idea for the ride, Craig...Great to see a different view point in a familiar area. Morgan, enjoyed meeting you guys, and getting to ride with the adults. In no time, I will be struggling to keep up with him. Pyro; sorry we didn't catch the rest of the guys for you... I now recollect that they were taking McCain Valley Road for at least a while.

Hey, you found one my favorite little spur roads on Otay Mountain. Did you venture down to the end? That's one of the trails we've worked on...

I knew you would know the spot Sandiegolands! . . .

I didn't go down it. Being that I was alone and tuckered out, I decided to play it safe and enjoy the view instead. It looked doable but pretty rocky, combined with a nice rut or two. Does the trail go down very far?

It goes about as far as you see there, then turns into a trail. It wouldn't be difficult for you at all, but it's better with a 2nd bike, because there is no way out except up, a it is definitely too steep to push your way out if you had any mechanical trouble.
