Husqvarna coolant fitting

Recommended Posts

Since I had my left radiator crack a couple of weeks ago and I had it welded up, I have discovered an interesting tip for keeping things cool and equally pressurized on my TE450. Install an aluminum Y fitting in place of the plastic T fitting. This distributes both heat and pressure more evenly between the two radiators. It's claimed it will help the radiators shed heat better and take some of the extreme pressure off of the left radiator (so it won't tend to crack as easily). We'll see.... :)

Uptite product which I bought at Motoforza in Escondido.

:) I have one on my 510.

Thought I blew the Y-pipe on a ride up in Big Bear last year with digdug but it turned out to be the cross-over tube between the radiators.

Replaced the cross-over tube with a high temp/high pressure fuel injector hose, and the Y-pipe with the Uptite unit. Refilled the coolant system with engine-ice and it's been running great ever since.

good part from Up-Tite, George Erl is one of the Husky Gurus

I had all ready installed GFBN OEM Automotive Hi temp T fitting, hi pressure silicon tubes (CV4) and a 1.8 bar Kawasaki rad cap, and filled the rads with Maxima cool-aide............now for the reason, up at corral while just solo cruising my OEM T fitting exploded/melted so at the very least a good/better quality T fitting is a good choice for the twin cam Huskys

and I forgot , replace the crossover tube with an HD Hi pressure tube (fuel injection hose works good,,,,,I blew one of those down in Baja on a tecate ride.

I have only had overheating issues once with this TE, so I am not too worried about that. I am so little, the bike doesn't have to work very hard while I am riding it. :)

Bought my up-tite "T" many months ago. Ken

Hmmm, I must have been hiding under a rock not to have found out about this item before now. I wonder what else my bike needs that I don't know about....

Maybe there's some sort of shock absorber mount reinforcement?

Ask Jon, he might be able to point the way...

I wasn't hiding under that big of a rock.... Besides, the shock mount on the TE450 looks to be quite beefy.
