SCHWINN 0 Posted December 12, 2008 Thank you Slosher for bringing this to my attention. My new 690 handles great offroad but the engine had a feeling of a street bike and the torque was way different than my 525 exc. Slosher PMd me telling me of a DIAL setting uder my seat. I found it under a rubber boot. It was on 3 from the manufactuer, I turned it to 1 and it slowed the bike way down, turned it to 4 and found this was better than it was from stock. Turned to 8 and it snaps like my crf 450. The dial runs from 0-9. I will be leaving it at 8 for the dez and 5 when I have my supermoto wheels on. It actually feels like I am changing the front sprocket a tooth or two in either direction when I twist the dial. I wonder how many KTMs have this. By the way change the dial only when engine is off. It will not remap while running.
slosher 0 Posted December 12, 2008 If you have FI,you will have this.. Its pretty awesome to show up and all other are kicking your ass, then you change the program and they cant keep up.. Too bad that not me i am slow.. I do like the fact i have been able to change the program when i want more low end.. Settings are; 1 is soft 2 is advanced all others are 3 to 9 0 is for shitty fuel Its name is Map Select switch.
