Goofy Footer 539 Posted May 20, 2023 Besides tires, our feet are the next most common part to touch the ground while riding. From stop lights to trail photo opportunities to the impromptu foot dab in a corner, our feet and ankles can carry the weight and momentum of us on our bikes. Broken ankles, tibulas and fibias are all too common. I’ve seen a rider break his foot right in front of me - it can happen fast. PPE won’t prevent ALL injuries but quality high protection boots can and will help. On the market today, Motocross boots have the highest protection. “Adventure” boots are marketed for a more casual coffee shop look and marginal walkability gains but they compromise top level protection. I think the advertised “ease of break-in” isn’t worth breaking your foot in them! I largely agree with most of this video below. I would still take the moto / SG12 style above the one he recommends. Also the Obenauf’s products he mentions are top notch, check out their oil and heavy duty preserve. I personally use both: Obenauf's Leather Conditioner - Leather Oil https://a.co/d/bV09AV2 Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP Leather Preservative https://a.co/d/ahT8hxe
paulmbowers 236 Posted May 20, 2023 If I throw a leg over a bike, there's a SIDI Crossfire TA on the end of it.
