After yesterdays big ol' storm there had to be some fun riding somewhere, so off I went to some trails. Here are the pix....twenty eight miles of singletrack and snow covered fire roads and muddy fun, but I still have a backache.

Mimi it looks like a lot of fun. So that was the Hixon trail? Some of the photos look like the same type of single track we did that cold day at Lark Canyon. Maybe I can go with you sometime?

I went ahead and took the Harley out for a ride. Went up old 80 to start with. I was going to go up sunrise highway but there was way to much traffic. I did find some slush on the road after the golden acorn casino. It was on a curve and the back end started sliding a little, lots of fun that was (not). :( Somehow I ended up in Calexico. :D

Here is a little picture of something you don't see every day.

Hey when did you name your street bike?

My snow looks like it was more fun than your snow. See, that's what you get when you get into slush on the pavement, you start to slide and before you know it you've slid all the way to Calexico :D:P:(

And speaking of sliding, I definitely need new tires on the green slug for any more serious mud riding.

Dirty Dame,

I'm taking the dirt rider course this weekend. After that maybe ragamuffin and Bailey can find some snow. I saw lots of that white stuff today. But I just wanted to (had to) take a long relaxing ride on some back roads. :( I wasn't in the state of mind to do anything technical on the dirt. That's why I rode the Harley (Cadillac). :D

The trails were definitely more technical than what we rode at McCain Valley; much steeper and alot more rocky and rutted and washed out in places, as well as being on the edge of a cliff in alot of places. The mud is also alot more fulla clay than at McCain, so it can get pretty slippery. A couple of places on the northernmost section of the singletrack loop were not for me to ride down, so I walked the machine down, like at "The Drop" but with more rocks. :D Most of the ride was pretty relaxing though, and very scenic. I just luvs pretty scenery :(

I just looked at the photos again, a little closer this time. It definitely looks more technical then McCain Valley. And cliffs you say?!! Man I really need to take that dirt class.

Well, once you get your little mortarboard and tassel, I'll just have to drag your KLX butt out there to check out some of the trails. We don't have to do the north loop or any of the black diamond trails. Some of the fire roads are so torn up, they can be a bit of a challenge. And there's plenty more tight twisty singletrack to be had other than the loop I did. :(

Next time I go out for an afternoon ride, I'll be sure to add a "mystery" rider to it so I can squeeze an extra one or two thousand views out of a ride write-up posting! :(
