Covered in Dust 163 Posted January 24, 2014 I really think I'm out there when I'm on a ride with my cell phone, GPS and Spot tracker. I wonder if I'd have the cajones to do what these people did. CiD http://www.amazon.co...e/dp/B0006AV026
TrophyHunter 15 Posted January 24, 2014 Paddle to the Amazon Stumbled into this looking for a guitarist for our wedding. We hired Dana and he had this book on his site. Crazy journey. Across America by Motorcycle <-- dirt roads, new cylinders at 900 miles, etc. Looks like a good read, CID. yup, we're spoiled.
Afry 1 Posted January 25, 2014 Looks like a good read! Years ago I read "Death in the Long Grass" or "The Last Ivory Hunter" in old Africa and seem to remember a story about the park ranger (Peter Hathaway Capstick) running out of "road" due to a massive flood that won't dwindle for months so he built dugout canoes and took his Land-rover apart and crossed piece by piece. Then I think later they distilled some spirits for fuel - another good read - that's an adventure.
