Afry 1 Posted April 23, 2012 1997 dr650 Do the green and red wires with two narrow male blades coming out of the loom near the kickstand safety switch wires connect to anything? Also the black and brown/white with narrow male blades coming out of the loom near the starter relay? Putting bike back together and not sure I have anything to connect to them. TrophyHunter 15 Posted April 23, 2012 http://www.advrider....62&postcount=32 http://dr650.zenseeker.net/ Green and red. If they're not the one's that plug into the kickstand safety switch, I think they may be extra. Blk & Brn - if you're talking up behind the headlight, extra. Folks use 'em for heated grips or GPS or...... Check the links - it's been a while since I've read up on the wiring. Sorry I couldn't be more help. some wiring diagrams here http://dr650.zenseeker.net/Electrical.htm
Afry 1 Posted April 23, 2012 Thanks for the links....the brown and black is the license plate light I removed. The green and red are not kickstand...already bypassed them.Think they are extra. Is it a good idea to use the extra by the headlight for gps? Is it fused?
DRDan 0 Posted April 23, 2012 Is it a good idea to use the extra by the headlight for gps? Is it fused? I used the lic.plate wires to hook my gps to the battery which helped preventing the gps fuse (2Amp)from burning out all the time. --( when wired directly to battery, which also drained it.) trial and error.... dontknow about extras. cheers
