Paul 0 Posted May 26, 2007 at high speeds my back tire bounces a bit up and down. Could this bent rim be the trouble? and, can I whack it with a hammer? Looks bent - you need a new rim. so go ahead and hit it with a 2x4 longitutally and a big hammer -- then take it to a shop and balance it- or buy a rim from them if it won't balance. So hit it and if it don't work quit it! Kinda like my post-divorce dating strategy! Paul
Ride-Orange 2 Posted May 26, 2007 I've beat the heck out of my Excel rim before with a SLEDGE HAMMER and not had much success. It looks like time to shop for a new hoop. Try ebay if you can't get it straight. Good Luck!
tntmo 896 Posted May 28, 2007 A good place to pick up reasonably priced rims (just the rim, not the whole wheel) is on any supermoto forum website. They use the hubs to make their 17" supermoto wheels and sell the rims cheap, a lot of them almost brand new.
