don johnson 0 Posted January 5, 2012 Rode kern Sat and Sun great way to bring in the new year. Temps low 30s at night low 60s days. Most of the trails were open and clear. 31st did hit some snow (not bad) and ice (sucks) but that was mainly on the north fire trails. Single tracks were clear except the puddles on the back side of woops but that ice just broke. 1st stayed on the south slopes and the riding was like this looks like it will be ridable all month. dsfox 0 Posted January 5, 2012 Good for you Don...I had no idea you could still ride up there in the winter....where do you stay up there btw...I haven't visited there in the winter. I think some of the motels in kernville are open all year, or are you further south and west?....with the weather as nice as it's been, probably the best winter in a long time....
