Just installed a new skid plate from Rugged Rider. A little pricier than some other skid plates I've seen but absolutely worth it. It's also designed and made in the USA so I feel extra good about my purchase. Anyone looking for a skid plate or rack for their DRZ should check them out.

that looks good... the holes add a bit of "trick" to the plate

but...

one unsolicited comment... seal savers... they look way more modern than the gators

The fork boots are much better than seal savers.

Fork boots protect the seals, but most important,

they protect the fork tubes that can get nicks that destroy the seals.coolio.gif

Fork tubes are MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE than seals.

I think seal savers are popular because they are half the price of OEM fork boots and easy to install.

That's why folks are saying to get the long seal savers: they protect more of the tube

Gators offer less stiction but allow more dirt to get into the seal area

I can see both sides of this one-

Woa you guys are going all out on goodies for the DRZ. How're liking that front trials tire?

BTW I met the lady behind Rugged Rider at Death Valley last year. She has a pretty well set up DRZ.

About 1/4 of my riding time on this bike is on country back roads in the dark. That headlight is a necessity.

I've only ridden street so far with the new tire and it does fine. I'll let you know how it does in the dirt after Big Bear this weekend.
