Thanks to DSM8 for hosting this event again. We had about 8 people show. Bikes got worked on with plenty of good conversation and lunch. Not a bad way to spend part of a Sat. Thanks to all who showed. If there is someone down south that would be interested in hosting a bike maintenance day, please let me know. Thanks again.

Just looking for quick input before I order. I know I cant make everyone happy, but I want to make sure it is not "way off".

If any of you that wanted shirts are going to the maintenance day, please let me know so I can bring them. I also just received some new hats.

Would there be any interest into making this an over night ride? Easy big bike route out to Oak Grove Campground and try out camping gear. We could hit Palomar for some trails. We could stop on the way out and maybe on the way back in. -
Shirts have come in!

His pics are hosted elsewhere. You constant jabs are not going unnoticed! -
I had a different experience than Paul. I bought a 990 from AZ. I did the transfer at AAA. They were sticklers for seeing and matching the numbers on the bike. I had to remove a bracket so they could see one of the numbers. Where I had an issue was one of the stickers for smog (or something ) was missing and they were not going to let me transfer. Then I realized I had over 6500 ( I think that is the number needed) so they did not need the sticker, and they completed the transfer.

We are going to have a SDAR meeting on Wed July 17 from 6 pm - 8pm at Boll Weevil 9330 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, Ste ESan Diego, CA 92123 Guest speaker Gary LaPlante from MotoVentures will speak about fun practice exercises that all dual sport and adventure bike riders should know and do. Having sound fundamentals is the key to riding any motorcycle well. Big adventure bikes have physical limits and capabilities. The key to riding adventure bikes well is to first increase your riding skills by training and practicing on a smaller dirt bike that has fewer physical limits then by practicing the same skills on your larger adventure bike to fully understand it’s physical limits and, of course, by always using good judgment when you ride. Got a problem with tight turns, deep sand, or steep down hills? Come to this meeting and let’s talk about it. To quote the Motorcycle Safety Foundation: “The more you know, the better it gets.” Contact Gary anytime at (877) 260-6686 or MotoVenturesInfo@gmail.com. Ed Stovin, President of San Diego Off Road Coalition will also be there, to inform us of issues affecting us with land use issues, closures, etc.

Sorry to hear the physical ailments have gotten to the point you wont be riding "offroad" , but I am glad you are not giving up all motorcycle activity.

Yes that was a great turnout. Thank you to all who took the time to show. I was late as I was stuck in traffic for 1 1/2 hours. We did have some people that left and did not pay their tabs. That does not make us look good. Any input on time, location or suggestions to make the meetings better, please let me know. Thanks again!

I did have some cards printed up. I am hoping they will be delivered today. If so I will bring some to the meeting.
