How am I getting there? By motorcycle, you magnificent observer of the obvious. I will be mounting a two-wheeled monument to internal combustion and proceeding to hurl myself toward my destination through the repeated and violent detonation of a fuel-air mixture several thousand times per minute. Tiny controlled explosions will be occurring beneath my ass at a rate that would alarm most reasonable people, all so I can arrive somewhere slightly faster than if I were to flap my arms like a confused goddamn goose. The engine will consume the liquefied remains of prehistoric life, convert them into noise, heat, and forward motion, and launch me across the landscape accompanied by the mechanical symphony of pistons, valves, and questionable life choices. Every twist of the throttle will be a declaration that efficiency, practicality, and common sense can all go **** themselves. So in summary: explosions. I'm getting there with explosions.

The only other bike I ever had that was in the same ballpark was a 2007 DL650 V-strom It had 132K miles on it when I got rid of it. Only had to replace the throttle bodies because I wore out the pivots on the throttle plates. That was at 97K miles. Put 84K miles on a Stelvio before i sold that bike, one of the few I wish I had kept.

If I needed a commuter, this would be at the top of the list for consideration GLWS
