dirt dame 587 Posted July 16, 2009 I moved to San Diego County from the San Fernando valley in 1970. One year later, because of a high school boyfriend I discovered dirt bikes and one year after that I started to race off road events. Since this video is close to the same time line, it brings back a lot of memories, especially because I used to ride at Encinitas and Mira Mar. One of the 1971 Elsinore 4th Annual GP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFviihnmdb0 And a GP at Carlsbad, just like the ones I used to love to race only a few years earlier than when I raced there. Another place I used to ride and I'd go watch the races there. The dez 1972 World round 1972 1969 Carlsbad Four Corners 1971 Kit Carson, EScondido 1969 Santee 1970 This guy is great, getting all that footage!

Great find Mimi. You made my day. I didn't move to Carlsbad until 1974 but I lived on the 500 acre Kelly ranch (now all housing development) which bordered the Carlsbad raceway. Spent a lot of time there but 2 years later I moved to Ramona and spent my days riding in the desert. Notice that vintage riding didn't mean slower than today-just a lot rougher riding because of the suspension and with no protective gear. Enjoyed the video.
