"My Dog" / Doggie's thread!
ADV Bum replied to Chief Gunner's topic in A Forum for GENERAL PHOTOS & Videos
Must of taken some serious training to get that rabbit to play dead like that. -
Just a little something to build the excitement. Maybe this will persuade the undecided to accept the challenge before them. The tent will go under the sleeping bag. I will carry my jacket, sweat shirt(maybe sweat pants) rolled up on the rear rack. Myself and the ogio vest. That should be all thats needed.

Anza-Borrego Wildflower Ride & Camp (March 15th & 16th)
ADV Bum replied to Levvy's topic in Informal Local Rides & Who's Going Riding!
I may end up going on this. I think I will use it as a pre ride for the B2R run. I will load the bike up with all the goodies, tent, sleeping bag, and all the gear I will be taking. It will be good to do a little practice in the sand with the bike wieghted down. Any other B2R participants interested in a test run? -
I decided to go up to the mountains and R&D some of the fix's on the bike. Have to get it and me in shape for the Beach to River ride. Ended up getting there around 2:00. I got a late start, and they had traffic on the 215 down to 1 lane. That sucked. Get there, gear up and hit the trail. First little hill climb as you get to the ridge From a cool spot above the lake. It has a neat jump there. You can jump up onto the landing, and as you are in the air you are over looking the lake and feel like nothing is under you. First place I ever got the bike in the air. Some of the changes. New tail light assembly. New high bars(quad bars). Skid plate extension All the changes worked very well. The new higher bars were great. I can stand now with no hunching over. Hill climbs, and down hills were great. Standing was making everything better.

thurs 3-06 in the mountains

Even with risers, I have the same problem with bar height. Did you have to go with new clutch and brake cables or was there enough length? I did go with longer cables. I would check first with rerouting the stock lines first, depending how high you plan on going. Dug the conditions were fantastic. I rode up to the Pinnacles trails. No real snow on the ground. Occasionally there was a patch. Water crossing are elevated, no real mud to speak of. -

That is Lake Silverwood. I dont know what happened to the driver. It appeared that it was a college girl. She had left her bag she had packed for the weekend, her back pack with school books, and her nice Laptop computer. Who ever was driving, either her or someone who stole it, must have driven through the water crossing punching the gas and spinning the rear end. At some point they hooked up and it shot them over the side. The truck rolled down 20 ft to the creek. After the badges and official start showing, they have no need for me. -

I found 909 bars with thier Quad Bend. Those are 1" block risers, with 2" Rox antivibe risers. I then headed down to the lake. This is a cool spot to hang out/ fish. I always wanted to try this trail. I ended up doing about 1-2 miles. It is sponsered by a jeep club. Hill climbs as far as the eye can see. I would like to explore that entire trail system in the future. As I was leaving the canyon I found this truck. I must of missed the accident by 15-20 minutes. Blood fresh, radio still on. I did a quick trail search to see if I could find someone. No luck. At the road I found a fire crew that had just finished dinner. Took them back. We search the creek area. I searched the canyon the way I was leaving. Turned out to be a long day. -

Spaugh it seems the new tank was throwing off the riding style. It will be nice on the B2R ride. Now that I see that thing, combined with Pyro's tanker I dont think we need to carry any extra gas. -
Good old Encinitas. There is no place like home. Welcome back. It is nice to have someone else in the NCounty. Unfortunately living here means the riding areas are way over there.

I have already expressed my desire to have the last 3xl. Please stop trying to give it away.

why you plan on dying If I planned on dying, why would I want to signal for help? Thats just silly!

Does anyone going on the trip have a "spot" emergency beacon?

Sand lots and lots of sand. Many dunes and washes. Rock gardens are always possible when in canyons/washes. Jacumba has some good technical fun and there's a rocky wagon trail that'll put us onto the 8. I think the hardest part will be the 350+ miles that'll be done over a 3 day weekend. Of course being that the entire route has never been run, just getting there could be the biggest challenge of all. Be sure to bring patience and flexibility if you think you want to go. I'm packing light and travelling with only what I think I'll need. If you're on the fence because of terrain you may want to sit this one out until a full preride has been done. I don't think a 3 day ride into the unknown is the time to test yourself or your bike.

I am in on this one. Wife is going to let me go. I am understanding that this ride will start March 28 to Sun the 30th. Who else is in on this. I believe it will be first SDAR "Adventure" ride with camping and such. It would be nice to have a collective idea of what we are bringing or should bring. This will give us time to get it all together.

I have a hopped up 600r motor and lots of spare parts. Maybe I will build a bike and get into doing some of this. It would be nice to see the air cooled competing. -
At the campfire we'll tell stories of your exploits and build upon your legend. You guys are good friends! Drink a couple beers for me and make the stories real good.

Are you saying Hammer is our Puck! -
I cannot make the dash this year. I did not see what the shirt design will be this year. What will be the design, and how do I go about getting one? Did you make any 4x this year?

The black bracket is the one I just broke. White bracket is one I pulled off a parts bike. To my surprise it looks like someone had already done the gusset mod. Considering they are charging me $100 dollars to fix my frame, that makes this part all that more enjoyable.

I believe you just take the two wires that go to that switch at the clutch and put them together closing the circuit.
