I have never heard good stuff about Icon, I have seen an Icon helmet disintegrate in a minor fall.

For the first time ever I have been hearing good things. This helmet is in the same price range as the Shoei Hornet DS; I'm looking forward to the review!

I'm really not a good person to give reviews on the Icon Variant since I'm still new to the whole motorcycle riding thing. I'm coming from an older HJC dirt bike helmet that I stole from Baldbeemer because it fit me so well. The visibility range is pretty awesome compared to the HJC and the lack of buffeting at 55mph was pretty cool. I have not tried either the Arai XD3 or the Shoei Hornet so I have no idea how the Variant will compare to them.

I havwe had both of those. Liked the Arai MUCH MUCH MUCH Better.
