Stewards of the Sequoia members like you are making all the difference in keeping our trails open and preserving public access. Read on to see what I mean.

SUCCESSFUL SEQUOIA FOREST PLANNING MEETINGS

Thanks to the many Stewards members as well as members of the pubic, who attended the meetings hosted by the Sequoia Forest Service to discuss the Trail Plan Record of Decision and politely voiced your concerns about Lakeside access and lack of need for Fixed Date Closures. Forest Supervisor Tina Terrel got the message loud and clear, which is just what she needed to hear to encourage her to make the changes we need.

PLEASE TAKE TWO MINUTES TO STOP THE CLOSURE OF 181 MILES OF ROADS AND TRAILS NOW!

The squeaky wheel gets the grease, so lets get real squeaky. We need everyone (this mean you) to take two minutes and oppose this Fixed Date Seasonal Closure of 181 miles of roads and trails. It is easy and fast. This is your opportunity to show that our community has enough spine to stop the gated closure of our public lands for no reason. Speak up now or get locked out.

The Forest Service and the public have spent millions on this plan and it makes sense to fix the problems we have identified before the plan is implemented. Many other local organizations have already voiced their desire to sign the appeal which Stewards will be submitting on behalf of the community and the public, but right now we need more people to make noise about these issues.
