boat440 0 Posted November 13, 2009 Start in Barstow to Randsburg to Ridgecrest, then back the next day. Leave Sunday morning 11/22 for a short, local, easy/warm-up ride planned (about 40 miles) thru Afton Canyon. If you can't make it for Sunday meet us Monday. Monday & Tuesday (11/23 & 11/24): This is a fun ride. Not hard, open desert type riding. Small amounts of whoops and sand, mostly hard-pack. It will not beat you up. It's 133.4 miles the first day & 123.6 miles the 2nd day. We will use some of the 2007 Barstow to Vegas route & some of Crawdaddy's X-plane route. The high country and trails out of Ridgecrest have single trac mixed in. All the tracs are done. Gas isn't an issue, about 80 miles max. Let me know who's in? If you are interested reserve rooms in Barstow & Ridgecrest. Let me know your availability. I’ve got a KMZ file of the route. Come closer I’ll print maps & GPS down loads. We will walk thru this man-made tunnel. It took the guy 27 years to dig. Bring a flashlight. This is amazing. Check out this website. http://www.burroschmidttunnel.org/index.html We will tour a X-15 crash site: http://area51specialprojects.com/adams_x-15_crash.html We will tour a X-70 crash site: http://www.area51specialprojects.com/xb70_crash.html We will go thru Rainbow Canyon: http://www.desertusa.com/mag02/may/rainbow.html We will eat/gas at Randsburg (the famous Whitehouse Saloon, good food): http://www.dirtrider.com/features/141_0406...burg/index.html

Zenosan 2 Posted November 13, 2009 Great idea for a ride. Unfortunately I will be out of town that week. Try it another time and I would try to make it.
Joliet 0 Posted November 13, 2009 Sounds like a nice ride Steve. I would love to go, but I only have 3 days to get a weeks worth of work done that week anyway. I am good, but to be able to get all my work done in 1 day, I would not have time for a beer, and I would not be able to hang out on any of the motorcycle web sites I usually do . I will have to pass on this one. Take lots of pics. Ken

I have some single track in the mountains (50 miles past Ridgecrest) from I ride I did with the BBTR a few years back that I integrated into the route. Will make it interesting. Intermediate ride, with bailouts. Leaving on a Sunday is difficult and returning on Tuesday, but right now I have 3 signed up. Looking for a 4th.
