"Gran Torino" movie review

Recommended Posts

Went and seen "Gran Torino" since it finally opened here in San Diego.

I give it 9 outta 10

Clint Eastwood did a great job in this movie, reminds me a little of the character he played in "Heartbreak Ridge".

The racial slurs are done in a humorous way, so most folks will get past them easily without being offended.

I smell a few oscars for this movie, cause it's that good.

Saw it last night in San Mucos - two thumbs up from my wife and I.

Surprisingly funny movie with enough drama in there to keep your attention.

I agree, an Oscar might be in this film's future.

"Go get me a beer ...dragon lady."

There are so many good lines in this movie.

Saw it today. I'd give it a 4 out 5 stars. Classic Clint Eastwood, he's great in this. Highly recommend it!

I will say this- Eastwood writes, directs and acts his part so well, the supporting cast become broken bodies on the studio floor. They hardly have a chance. And Kowalski is such a cartoon of a character- little nuance, just a lot of Walt. And I enjoyed the entire thing.

I found my self wanting to yell out" Walt, you just can't DO THAT STUFF anymore!" But I really want to, and wish I could.

I'm a fan of both movies and films. I'd call GT a movie with the heart of a film.

went to see Gran Torino last night....liked it, liked it a lot.

LOVED how perspective was shown, humorous and otherwise.

funny watching how un-PC Walt was...trying not to spoil here.

i found myself cringing, but seeing my Grandpa too....that generation....they are dying off.

Clint, esp in light of the "Spike Lee" call outs, showed REAL life...in REAL times...gritty phrases.

Blind :) not much of a film critic....but 4 outta 5 stars.

Clint Eastwood Rules!!!!

P.S. did that one kid have 2 thumbs on his right hand??!?!?(*attached to other thumb...dueling thumbs) it was the chubby gangster...

if anyone goes and sees it again, lemme know!

P.P.S. curious question here.....do you clap at the end of a good movie?? i mean i see in Cannes, director/actor etc...

but in Mission Valley 20 @ the 7:20PM show??? seemed, i dunno, odd.
