slosher 0 Posted October 28, 2008 I have tried ot keep up with the big boys and i am just too slow. So here is my idea for a ride; Saturday 9am meet at Lake Jennings Park and ride lot. Depart about 9:30 up old Highway 80 to Vegas Grade Rd. Take till me moutains, make left at end, take to Sun Rise Highway. Take any open gates with dirt trails, drop back in to Pine Valley for lunch. Depart Pine Valley to the Truck Trail, take till find road back up to Laugunas. Loop around back to Vegas Grade Rd. End at Lake Jennings lot. It think it will take about 6 hours to complete. Anyone want to tag along? Slower riders?

cardiffchris 0 Posted October 29, 2008 If I can escape the "ball & chain" I might be interested. My low geared Suzuki only goes 55 so I'm pretty slow.
RogerTOWM 0 Posted October 29, 2008 Wish I could go, it sounds like my type of ride, but I have other obligations Saturday. Maybe the next time.
Kevin 0 Posted October 29, 2008 I have tried ot keep up with the big boys and i am just too slow. Don't worry about the speed, always ride at a pace that you feel comfortable with. You should never ride above your ability to "keep up". Ride slow and enjoy the ride and live to tell about it!
bikeslut 1 Posted October 29, 2008 If I can escape the "ball & chain" I might be interested. My low geared Suzuki only goes 55 so I'm pretty slow. 55 is plenty fast for Viejas Grade and Pine Creek Road... both single lane hardpack or asphalt... DO keep a close eye for oncoming traffic... i've almost become a hood ornament more than once, and it was always my fault... keep right, and go slower than you think you can guys Joe- I agree with you (and Kevin) about speed... if you've tried to ride with fast guys and "can't keep up", there are plenty of others to ride with; I'm not fast, but would rather wait for a slower rider, than an ambulance or a helicopter. With 600+ members, somebody here rides your pace, or close enough. post that ride some Sunday, and I'll join you
blind_in_1_ear 0 Posted October 29, 2008 is it possible??? could i be so lucky??!?!? i think, *gasp* i MIGHT have saved enough hubby points to be able to go!!! looks like i did good, and she's saying i can go!!! don't know if i got the full run capability, still out of any shape other than round... 6 hours might be much for me...at this point anyway...but who knows.... short story long, i think i am in for this...i think i am qualified for the slow part... a new rider, and slothish...yeah i am slow... Crawdaddy 96 Posted October 29, 2008 BS says: "I'm not fast" yeah right I prefer Sunday too Well, in fairness to Slut, he's only as fast as the person he's "BikeSlutting" (tail gating) That being said, he seems to be able to stick to the rear of most anyone (and I don't mean that in a sexual way )

ORANGEBLOOD 0 Posted October 30, 2008 I know, I've never out run bikeslut, except on paved straightaways (300cc extra might have something to do with it). Everytime I looked in the rear view down Mt. Palomar there he was 20ft behind me. I think he might be getting inside info on that radio headset. ORANGEBLOOD

bikeslut 1 Posted October 30, 2008 My goal is to shake Bikeslut off some day for thirty seconds. OK- you guys need to stop... motobro, tom, brent, etc. they're all reading this and saying "who is this guy?" OH it's Bob... he sucks Like I said in the "rate yourself" thread... I am intermediate... some people, even weekend warriors, are VERY good at this... I don't push the envelope any more... slow and safe. One of the reasons I DO tend to follow close? it's like having an airbag... something to absorb the shock of a head on collision That's right... I called a bunch of you airbags back on topic... how's the RIDE shaping up?
