both of us.... I bought mine new, and maintained it per the manual myself... til it was stolen with 8000 miles on it :angry:

Mine was a great bike... comfy for around town, kicked realative ass in the canyons, and I actually put a dent in the head pipe riding up Bear Valley Road... oh and WHEELIES!!!! Wooo HOOO!

(on closed course, performed by professionals only :D )

The Slutty One used to own one.....Jeff and I still have'em/ride'em........it's become a daily commuter scooter for me since diesel is so F&*^ expensive now.....$5.07/gallon this morning.....WTF?!?!!?

I've got ~34K miles on my Super Chicken.......bought it with about 10K miles.......I dropped about ~$1K into it early on when I beefed the front/rear suspension.......but engine wise, all I've done in the ~24K miles since I've owned it is change the oil and tweak the valves a couple of times (only exhaust side)..........VERY reliable/fun bike.....gotta love the twins.......actually sounds/feels like a motorcycle as opposed to some of the smooth inline 4 sport bikes that sound like some sort of household vacuum cleaner/blender on steriods......that being said, I owned a host of Kawasaki GPZ's and loved'em all......especially the two GPZ 1100's I owned....

You're welcome to ride my bike(s) anytime.....

One of the best thing I liked about the bike was it was very versatile... and typical honda reliability...

I bought my V Strom, because I figured the motor (996 cc V Twin) would be a lot like the Superhawk...

not even close... horsepower may be close, but the hawk was way smoother, way more over -rev, and more torquey...I'd trade my Strom in a heart-beat for one...

I had a Corbin on mine, but the stock seat was not too bad... I would've eventually put a pipe on it, because the stock pipe was very muted... (easy there sound nazis.... I didn't say I would put a LOUD pipe on it) Other than that, stock, it is a great and very under-rated bike

1999 VTR 1000

So it's black?......nice.....mine is a 98.....first year it was in production

Check out these "new release" articles:

http://www.motorsports-network.com/HONDA/VTR1000.HTM

http://www.motorsports-network.com/HONDA/v...st8/Vtrtest.htm

BUY IT......and let's ride :angry::D

I also put a set of Gen Mar Handlebar risers on mine.......raises the bars up an inch or so.....more comfy that way since the Honda has you sitting over the bike as opposed to sitting down in the pocket as you do on some other sport bikes (Kawasaki)......less strain on the wrists with the risers.....
