Dhillr 1 Posted January 6, 2017 Hi all, Just finished the first (1 hour) valve check on my new 2017 KTM 500 EXC. Made short video of it. Bottom line: ALL the valves were tight so do the check! Cheers! Dave

kkug 147 Posted January 11, 2017 I checked my valves tonight . All good enough for me the Exhaust both ,006 Intakes on the loose side one .006 the other one .007 So at least they are not tite so I am ready to ride it. Probley change some shims the next time I check em - Dhillr I took the breather hose off the air box- and replaced the clamp with a screw hose clamp. It will be real easy next time . Dhillr 1 Posted January 13, 2017 It's funny you mentioned the breather hose clamp... That thing pissed me off!! Seriously the most difficult part of the job. I found that disconnecting the clamp on the airbox side made it simpler to get the hose fully seated on the valve cover....then there was plenty of room to make the final connection at the clamp on the airbox. I like your idea of replacing the clamp as the stock one is a bit weak. Looking forward to getting out on a ride soon!!! Cheers! Dave
