EddieEarl 6 Posted December 28, 2016 Man that looks fun and nerve wracking all at the same time! Anybody know if you can "team ride" the rally? Or, do you have to solo it the whole way?
Goofy Footer 539 Posted December 28, 2016 I've never seen anybody "team ride" the http://www.bajarallymoto.com/ . It's a step up in nav difficulty and true rally experience (solo riding / Only rally nav ie no GPS option / etc) from https://norra.com/ . To my understanding NORRA can still be ran with GPS or rally navigation or a combo of both. I've heard of guys with big tablets using GPS. You can team ride it and it's multi-day. You can ride a part day or whole day or solo the entire thing. NORRA allegedly is a bit more "party" and does have trucks / buggies (there was a Very unfortunate incident in 2013 - since then the vehicles go on separate tracks compared to bikes for most if not all of the course). Baja Rally is all bikes with a few UTVs. I can only speak for the safety/medical teams at the Baja Rally and it's a huge focus for the rally and the team was excellent last year. Baja Rally historically has gone down the Pacific Coast and mountains while Norra does more of the Gulf side. Baja Rally has been a loop (logistically easier) while Norra ends in Cabo (fun but harder to get back to the US). Depends what you're looking for.
