Barry 0 Posted January 18, 2008 In Stefano’s thread Hammer was asking about a 200+ mile race and I suggested the River Run. The River Run or Check Chase is a very historic race. If you’re really interested in doing a race of that distance, if it goes off, this is the one to do. The entries will be limited to 500. Your best chance to be one of the 500 is to be a District 37 member and race the Checkers race on February 23 & 24. There are 5 or 6 pits so you have to be prepared. No club will guest pit non members in point to point races so you’ll have to arrange your own pits. Nothing would be better than winning your class in the River Run and having that trophy on your mantle. I won my class in the 91 Checkers National H&H and that is the only trophy I still keep. I did it on a CR500 so Hammer you’ve got the DESERT SLED to do it. Throw some 15/40 gearing on it and you’re ready to rip. Here are two links about to the race. http://thebannerisup.district37ama.org/his...river-run.shtml http://thebannerisup.district37ama.org/his...er-run-more.htm
