Spaugh 1 Posted November 25, 2007 well our 60 mile loop turned into 120 miles. Lots of sand, a few spills and lots of fun. Unfortunately for Joliet his DRZ was mad at him for going husky and did not want to start. And without a kick starter, he was tapped out for the day. Sorry Joliet We started out in Ocatillo and left pretty promptly, We then did a little wash run and headed for the park where we stopped at the bandlands overlook. We then entered the park via canyon sin nombre and headed for arroyo tapiado and to the mud caves. After making a wrong turn and heading down del diablo wash and missing the dropoff, we met a nice aussie guy getting drunk early morning and pointed us back north to the drop off. I had fun going down that wash anyway Not so sure Alex was thrilled But we made it to the dropoff and took 5. We were now in fish creek and on our way to split mountain. Carguy snapped one of me near a billion year old wall... We exited the park and headed north to ocatillo wells and the zoo inn. After leaving the zoo, we headed through some deep sand to the train tracks and headed south to painted gorge where we had to hit some seriously whooped up roads. Sorry no pics 120 miles later we made it back to Ocatillo just before sun set in time to enjoy a few cold ones. It was a great ride and I can't wait to do it again with you guys soon. Checking out the area early. after a couple of hours of play, more show up. The DRZ decides not to be ridden The Blu Inn Zoo And our feerless leader going up the dropoff. Thanks for a great ride, little sore after 130 miles of sand and whoops. Painted Gorge next time.
