KTMrad 517 Posted October 10, 2012 After riding and working in the Reno area, it was time to head home down the 395. Had to stop at Iggy and Squiggy's Junction Bar (395 & 208), just north of Topaz Lake, for a burger and a brew. They say I'm a regular now, been there 4 times since 2006. Here's Iggy(left) & Squiggy(right), cookin' up the awesome burgers... Sign in the bathroom....they're a distributor for "Fukitol" After lunch, heading down the 395 along Topaz Lake.... My co-pilot...he love road trips On the way south towards Bridgeport, the Walker River running strong along the road... Cody the Codemeister still enjoyin' the ride and the view.... Oh no....the horror of horrors....a Harley in the back of a pickup Cody was enjoyin' the mountain air.... He was thinkin'.... "c'mon dad, I'm bored...when are we going to stop and check out the mountains ?" 2 Orange Machines built for different purposes... On the road up towards Virginia Lakes.... Gettin' close....this deer crossed in front of us Finally at Virginia Lakes, where it was time for a break and walk Codyboy around.... Cody's sayin' "finally !" And I was thinkin' finally too ! Always good to have a cold Sierra in the Sierra ! Cody was really enjoying the scenery... We went for a short hike.... Had to get back on the road...here we're passing Mono Lake.... On the way south towards Mammoth.... Odometer reading with a lot of 6's.... Sun going down on the Sierra Nevada Range.... Cody getting ready to crash for the rest of the way home.... Mt Whitney at sunset...14,505 feet, the highest point in the contiguous United States .... Last pic of the trip....

DustyRock 0 Posted October 11, 2012 Nice trip and cool pics. Not sure what dogs like better playing or riding in the car, I think riding in the car probably wins everytime. Mine usually grab a toy or the ball before hauling a$$ into the vehicle and finding the perfect spot for the ride with big smiles on their faces. Wish I could take my furry kids with me to work. Thanks Kug & Dusty, funny how dogs love road trips. When I first got Cody, he would get car sick...one trip to Yosemite and back cured his car sickness. Yeah, I'm pretty lucky to be able to take Cody to jobs sometimes. He actually goes to the office with me often now, especially when it's hot out....we don't have AC at home, but the office does. Everyone at the office likes dogs, so he fits in just great.
