kvanderstel 0 Posted February 19, 2012 I was out there today, the truck trail off Pamo Rd was gated! What's up with that? Orozco ridge was gated too Anyone know why? When they'll be open
Afry 1 Posted February 19, 2012 Pretty common this time of year. Wet weather=closed gate.
Czechsix 1 Posted February 19, 2012 I thought Orosco was more or less permanently gated by now? It used to be a shooting area, but the idiots that brought trash, old appliances, etc to shoot up screwed that for everyone. Not to mention the idiots that shot someone too..that didn't help. It used to be that you could stop by the ranger station and they'd let you know what the current combination was. Don't know if that's still in effect. eddie 0 Posted February 19, 2012 As far as I know the gate was open all summer - right until the rain started. I thought Orosco was more or less permanently gated by now? Orosco RIdge is closed until further notice, which means forever. Another case of the few ruining it for the many. Lusardi and Santa Ysabel TT get closed when the road is wet for erosion control and safety considerations for the general motoring public.
kvanderstel 0 Posted February 19, 2012 Orozco ridge has been closed to shooting, but not riding. Sad since the best time to ride is when it's wet. Damn...
Afry 1 Posted February 19, 2012 Orozco ridge has been closed to shooting, but not riding. Sad since the best time to ride is when it's wet. Damn... confirmed as per local Ranger rick They are working with the NRA to set up safe shooting lanes. Duncan Hunters office has been working with USFS to insure this opens for shooting again. If USFS had their way it sounds like it would not open for shooting again but Duncan's on it.
