Beezzz 6 Posted May 20, 2011 4 days camping in south section of park. Rode Kolob Terrace Road to northern section of park over a mountain pass at 8000 ft. Near Lava Point. Found some snow. There was this snow and washed out roads to cross. High snow falls around the country included lots of snow and water in this area. 5pm in the afternoon and 50 miles from camp. I had to cross the closed and washed out road. I rode down the snow road on other side until it became impassable. I needed a snow mobile. Wife shook her head in disbelief, not relating to my interest in stream crossings or snow travel. Other views from Kolob Terrace Road.

Beezzz 6 Posted May 20, 2011 I am not use to riding solo, so when you add an unknown water crossing, winter temperatures, "closed" dirt roads covered with snow, 5 pm in the afternoon. I felt the adventure. It was irresistible. My wife had the tough part. Waiting for her husband to return. Schwinn, What was Bryce like in comparison to Zion? Alot more friendly to anything offroad even the kids were riding on the street to get to the trail heads. Cops on Quads in the middle of the street being helpful in giving directions. The whole area is awsome. The State Park is Incredible and only street legal vehicles in there so we parked the bikes and jumped in the truck for the day and was worth it. Oh and BTW..That tunnel in ZION LOL. I had to pay extra and they had to shut the road down and escort me thru the middle with truck and trailer HaHa.
