  1. I bought these a while back to wear in the RZR and on the Seadoos.......surprising quality for the price.........nothing special but cheap/disposable https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002UJVNFA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

5.3 gas tank on the 5-Hundo and ready to roll..........when my time is my own........(~2yrs)

That's two of us.......I could've gone now that I won't be using reserved vacation time for the Idaho BDR in July.......
  4. Now we know why it was locked.......there's a big boulder in the middle of the trail about ~3/4 of the way up........could probably get around it in a car/truck but they may want to move it before reopening the gate...... Good thing you didn't roll up in the sidecar rig Randy.......seeing that locked gate would've been a colossal disappointment 5 of us crossed over and headed up........some good B.S.'n with frosty beverages while enjoying the sunset..... First time I'd ridden since the 950SE loop in Baja in April.......the 500 felt so tiny after that behemoth Now I also know my lighting needs to be addressed.......some sort of loose connection........rode down with a flickering strobe show between low and high beam......
  5. I roll the same Kelly, generally up the hill before 5......the widening of 67 a few years ago had to help that choke point by Mt. Woodson.....
  6. Never an easy situation to deal with.......my thoughts are with you and your family.....
  7. Start EARLY, slow and steady gets the plaque.......lunch is a Snicker's bar while filling your gas tank. Meanwhile, I'll be having a beer with lunch on the easy way
  8. Bump.......ride is THIS weekend.........not too late to get in on the action........wide diversity of routes available (adventure, easy, hard way).........Carbo load spaghetti dinner at Friday registration and Saturday banquet after the ride.......an easy Sunday loop is also available.......
  9. There's an Adventure Loop track set as part of the Big Bear Run this weekend......should be a fun/easy loop in the rig and a good opportuinity to mingle with the BBTR crew. This year marks the 25th annual event........time flys.........should be a blast.......

    KTM Adventure windscreens

When Rigger and I dropped down in April I was only wearing Sunglasses in a pure off-road helmet most of the time........I got hit pretty hard withy bugs in some of the agricultural areas.... The short screen on the 950SE doesn't bother me, but an adventure lid with full shield will likely be on my head for the next foray on the big bike......
  11. X2. I haven't always seen eye to eye with management over the years, but I have always appreciated the benefits of being part of, and aligned with, SDAR and contributed once the site began asking for donations.......and not just in a financial sense......I have worked to grow awareness of the site since the beginning. Likewise, I've also been kicking $ to the O.C. Dualies and Big Bear Trail riders over the years........it just makes good sense.......an increase to $30 next year is no BFD in my book.......thank you SDAR!

    Excellent!
  13. Too stinking hot today, but next Tuesday looks much more "temperature compliant"..........almost summer solstice so the sun won't be setting until ~8pm next week.......which allows you to have dinner with the family AND still work a hall pass for a short evening ride........ I'll be at "the spot" around 7:30pm on Tuesday the 18th.......back down the hill/home by 9pm (Ramona locals) New here? - Read through the thread to learn the location and uncover the first rule of "2fer Tuesday"

Welcome neighbor LB, we might have to take him up for a 2fer Tuesday next week? It's supposed to be cooler next week.........I need to get out on the 500 or 350 one night next week anyway.......both bikes are sitting under a pile of dust.......need a shakeout ride to get ready for the Big Bear Run on the 22nd
  15. Hope to make the next one!
  16. Always make two piles - "Stuff" & Money All set? Ready to start loading the bike? Great, now cut the pile of "stuff" in half and double the $$$ You're all set, load up.......
  17. Wife's cousin is in town.........we have entertainment duty Friday night - Sunday morning....... FYI - Bike Sluts former band, the Tighten-ups, are playing at Wong's Saturday night

    Speaking of two strokes

Love it! I started off on Honda Enduros, but my first full fledged street bike was a smoker - 1976 Suzuki GT550 (3 cylinder) https://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/suzu/suzuki_gt550 75.htm

Looks like a solid turnout.........I had intended to go......sorry to have missed it......

Anyone know how to scale a business?

Sounds like you need to get into talks with your minority partner......more investment/energy on that end........less stress/more free time on your end....... Likewise, coming off our 60th BDays the retirement needle is moving left for me and my wife........doubt we'll be working full time beyond a couple/three years
  21. My folks retired in Placerville in the early 80's.......I'm very familiar with all the paved Sierra traverses throughout the area (50/4/108/120)......Georgetown was always a lunch stop when we bombed over 120 from Mammoth before heading back across 108 and/or 4.......or dropped down the 49 from Mom and Dad's........haven't done as much off road exploring as I'd like in the area........but I plan on it in the years ahead when my time is my own........
