  1. Do you have experience with the new Kawasaki Versys,if yes, what do you think abbout it and compare to the V Stom 650? Thanks Mauricio
  2. Hi Suzuki advertises the V STORM 650 as a dual sport bike and the web shops put the bike in the category of sport bike. The motorcycle is tall but the tires are not as “dirt” as the DR 650 SE or the KLR 650. What do you think; it is a real Dual Sport Bike? If yes, how much dirt can it take? DR 650 is 50-50 KLR 650 65-35 V Storm? Thanks Mauricio

    Off Road Course

Hi I’m new to the bike world. You helped me very much to see that I like better the dual sport. I made a new friend in NH that has many years in the sport and he told me that the best way to learn how to ride a bike from every point is to learn first to ride Off Road Bikes. He said that if I can ride those bikes I will be able to ride on the street with confidence and also off the road with pleasure not becoming a statistic. What do you think? Do you know any club or school or instructor in the San Diego area where I can learn with an off road bike? Otherwise, your opinion will be greatly accepted. Mauricio
  4. Hi This is my second post I have been doing more research to find which one suits better for me KLR 650 or the DR 650 SE I went to the store, seating on the bike I started to find right away some differences, but don’t know if they are important. KLR: The seat is wider so it was like riding a horse for the first time, was little uncomfortable having the legs on the floor. Had RPM instrument, suspension was stronger not bouncing so much (don’t know if it is good or bad).Wind protection. DR 650SE: Seat slim, more comfortable when standing on the floor, suspension bounced and no wind shield. The seller said that the wind shield was a plus when you ride a lot of freeway, true? MORE IMPORTANT I already read three reviews that state that above 60-65 miles/h in the freeway handles of the KLR 650 will start to vibrate in a scary way and when you arrive to your destination your hands are numbed. I need your insight please about the vibration, seats and suspension. Thanks Mauricio

  6. Hi. I'm new to the world of bikes I'm going to take my Basic Ride Course. Very new in the bike world. I have been talking to the Basic Ride course instructor and he said that it is not such a good idea to take the course in a Dual Sport Bike (they have 2 smaller than the 650),he said they are tall and in slow motion difficult to control, etc. Is it better to use a regular bike to learn? My question is: If I'm thinking of getting a Dual Sport is not a good idea to learn in one?. Is it better to use a regular bike to learn? If I learn in a regular bike, how I will know if dual sport is for me?,who I'm going to learn? I read a lot about the Suzuki DR 650 SE and the Kawasaki KLR 650. Reviews say tha both bikes are great and very forgiving very good for novice riders. I'm 5'11 and 170 pounds. 47 years old (hope not too old to learn) Thanks so much Mauricio
