  1. Van, I really enjoyed our ride yesterday. We sure got a lot accomplished in that 103 miles. Thank you for the top off on gas and the top off of a wonderful plate of shredded beef enchiladas and a nice cold Modelo! It was a perfect day. 😊
  2. That was the same wash that your bike decided it was time for a top end refresh 😎
  3. The phone was found deep in the Southern California Desert! Here is a link to the whole thing. At the end of the video you will note that no good deed goes unpunished! https://www.relive.cc/view/vYvrDwYkVx6
  4. Who was that old guy in the photo?

    Got a New Helmet

That is just too weird, be funny to glue a novelty helmet to the top!
  6. These injury reports need to stop...no one is going to ride with me any more. That will make me sad. I’m already sad to know that you have a sore foot.

    Honda CRF450L spruced-up

Was visiting my friends over at San Diego Power House the other day...Guess what I found? A Plated CRF450L (big deal they are all plated! well please read on) that I would consider even over my usual taste for pumpkin. Below are some photos of the owner's (SD power house) bike. He has been the go too mechanic shop for the Honda Baja team 1x. They even had an "Overall Finish' faster then the dreaded trophy trucks. Bob preps and builds all of 1X's bikes. So...he knows Honda's for off-road. I have been watching the classifieds for 2019 Honda CRF 450L's and I'm finding bikes with less than 1K miles on them in the $7.5K range. Why is this important? Imagine an uncorked Honda CRF 450 that sports a Cali Plate? This is what he creates for customers pretty much every month or so. A "Stage one" offering (around $1.9K) takes all the unnecessary stuff off the bike and replaces a few things with CNC'd goodies. IMS 3.0 gallon tank. Baja Designs head light, A Vortex engine module with Dyno created maps by the Honda 1X Baja Team and Bobby at SDPH is installed, a Pro Circuit pipe/muffler system too. The air box will be massaged for deep breathing. The rear fender will be a CRF450 version with tucked in turn signals and tail light along with a tiny plate mount. The "Stage Two" version contains all of the "stage one additions and subtractions" but gets into the suspension components, steering damper, a new cam, mill's the head, and will dyno at 62HP...all for another $1.5K. I wonder if having the three ring piston...Honda's history of longevity, Honda's reputation for decent maintenance check durations...plus less expensive replacement parts would just make financial and fun sense? A new KTM 500 exc would be close $12K out the door... and to get the bike to where I would want it...close to what I have now the 07 450exc RFS, I could see dropping close to, if not over, $3K into a new bike! Nope! Just a thought...
  8. Paul what a treat! That was a fun track we shared today. You are a good friend to get out on the trail with me so early...and plainly a good friend. Thank you.

    Honda CRF450L spruced-up

Bobby said to me the de-smog, small lights, pipe, thermo delete, vortex and a few more goodies in stage 1 kit. i might be wrong? I saw this one for $8.9K today: https://www.cycletrader.com/Used-Honda-Crf-450l/motorcycles-for-sale?make=Honda|2316874&model=CRF|764948699&trim=450L|54148&condition=U&zip=92004&radius=250

By the lack of interest in this post I realize now that I have committed a sin against KTM. Please forgive me. I repent. I will do six Hale Mary's while touching the seat of my 450exc.

Hit the expanded enlarge photo button, there is more to see than what I listed.
  13. Unfortunately I’m out for Tuesday have an appointment at 1pm that day. Haven’t been out to check the mud content but historically the conditions will have a slimy area or two! Have a great ride!
  14. Last year I pogoed my foot on the ground during a turn and twisted my ACL and MCL just a tad. That "just tad" left me a bit worried for about three weeks. When the sensation finally went away, I considered myself very lucky. I was checking and found that the total cost for a MCL / ACL Tear/Surgery plus followup visits is currently $68,000.00 dollars. I guess $700.00 for a set of high quality Knee Braces is literally an ounce of prevention. Here is a link for my citation: https://calv.info/the-cost-of-an-acl

Let Us Do a Radio Comm Thread

Hey Gov, what's that leaf doing on your perfect lawn?
  16. Tried and true...hell of a price... though my 60 YO knees say they are worth every centavo. https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/riding-gear/asterisk-ultra-cell-2.0-knee-brace-pair-p
  17. Sorry Baggs one more add to the hijacked thread...DWreck91 I use the RR set up that Paul gave you the link to and I like it mucho. I do recommend purchasing the extended life radio battery for $30! It gets you through a lot of chatter with the Breakfast Club gang...or maybe don't buy that battery?!
  18. That was a fun ride Van and Kevin! Thanks!
  19. Not going to make this ride... waiting on fork/dust seals.
