Good idea to just wait for the right connector. When I win the 2019 KTM 300 xc-w TPI giveaway from "Dirtbike Channel" maybe you can help me with the magic of FI. Shhhhhhh! Don't tell anyone about this giveaway; it might lessen my chances to win!

What's the fix? Just a new fitting?

First bike I ever road was a Honda (step-thru) trail 55. I was six! So much fun! Then move to the Honda CT-70 Mini Trail; even more fun! I love the Mini Trails!

Don't forget to grease the OD prior to installation. Should not be a traumatizing experience for the bearing being removed later.

Repack your old ones with some awesome waterproof grease! My two centavos

Is the Juice worth the Squeeze?
SoCalMule replied to Bagstr's topic in Articles, Movies, Videos, DS/ ADV Related
As I understand it, the weight difference of a KTM 250/300 xc-w carborated and the TPI version is negligible...the article says the FI is much heavier. Also one of my peeves is the whole (Bikes are going up in price BS) smoke and mirrors of the federal reserve banking cartel. Prices are not going up! The value of the petrol dollar is going down! Has been since the Fed (up) came into play. In the seventies when the dirt bike boom was rocking, the dollar experienced an average inflation rate of 4.20% per year. In other words, $100 in 1970 is equivalent in purchasing power to $610.14 in 2014, a difference of $510.14 over 44 years. The 1970 inflation rate was 5.72%. Go back to the 1930's, during one of Congresses Christmas recesses, the Fed was created, voted on by a few "in the know" senators that stayed inWashington to vote, vote passed (of course) and was implemented... and now your dollar's purchasing power today is worth 0.3 cents on the dollar since that vote! Today a $10,000.00 dollar 2019 KTM 500 exc would cost you $1666.66 if still at the 1970's rate. (lots of sixes?) "Prices going up"! It's a shell game to herd the sheeple into tow. Okay steeping down from my lofty soapy box. -
Hey Chris, I got over 10K miles on my RFS wheel bearings; replaced the rear wheel assy. only due to a crack noted in the hub. I have been a proponent of removing the bearings... cleaning and inspect them by removing the dust seals (carefully with an Exacto knife) and repacking them with a good grease such as Chevron SR1-2 grease. I'm pretty sure that your OEM bearings have been very well designed for longevity. Water, more than dust can lead to the need to inspect/clean and repack more frequently. Below is a link to one of the so-called upgrade kits for your bike. https://www.motosport.com/all-balls-rear-wheel-bearing-upgrade-kit?mmy=ktm%3B500exc%3B2016&mmy_source=pdp

MSR Summer Time
SoCalMule replied to Riggerdan's topic in Baja Info, Upcoming Rides, Ride Reports, Photos, etc.
I agree Dan, funny though, without the paparazzi being there, I would not have such a well documented story to tell. You were my guardian angle that day, I would not want to be out on the trail hurt with anyone else...Thanks again for pulling me out of the Manzanita! I'm amazed that "Freshness" could get up, dust himself off, and go on a business trip so soon after. I was a cry baby for the first two weeks! I made a decision while I have been in rehab mode for the past eight weeks...I choose to not to fall any more. -

I get it. The 4T feels top heavy for the balance training exercises. I'm sure that your hill climbs on the 300 will be just as good if not better then thumper with proper gear selection (usually a higher one on the 2T) and proper clutch technique to impede wheel spin ie. traction. Bultaco Persang! Great bike! just didn't get used to the left hand kick start -
