    Big Bear Time!

Can't make the next couple of weekends but would love to get up there. Anyone have a good .gpx or trail map of the area? Thanks!
  2. Haha I'm retired now. But did rack up about 2,400 jumps back in my sky/BASE days. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Hope to catch one of your BDR rides soon!
  3. I'm out of Oceanside and would be keen to join on ADV rides. I've also got an 890 ADV R and always seeking out the tougher stuff. Minimum asphalt preferred. Shoot me a DM on here and I'll share contact info.
  4. In a few weeks I'll be riding from Oceanside to Palm Springs for an overnight. Anyone know of any dirt to hit along the way and/or connect the two as much as possible? KTM 890 ADV R. Comfortable with technical terrain. Thanks!
  5. Awesome, thank you!
  6. Does anything connect the top of Nate Harrison Grade to the 79?
  7. Excellent. No gates to be concerned about there? Thanks!
  8. Hey Padu, met you at Fox the other day. Any read on if you can put one of these together that utilize AirBnBs and/or hotels? Seems like a great ride, I'm just not too interested to invest in camping gear. I'm a bed-and-shower kind of rider. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Thanks!
  9. Seeking .gpx files and/or maps of good loops within the park. Riding plated dual sports, open to any level of difficulty. Thanks!
  10. I'd be down. Keep me posted!
  11. Anyone know the route to get to the Goat Canyon Trestle Bridge?
  12. What bike(s) are these weekday rides on? I get plenty of small bike riding during the weekend, but I could take a weekday off for a big bike ride to learn some new areas.
  13. This past weekend I did a modified version of the Pinyon, Fish Creek, San Felipe Wash loop. 98 miles on the nose. It's a really nice bit of riding. I ran it on the 500. It seems doable with the 890, but I would want a buddy or two to assist at the tougher sections if needed. I'll explore the southern sections down near the train tracks next, on the 500. I'm open to joining a ride out there if my schedule allows. Particularly a big bike ride if there's interest. Keep me posted!
  14. Awesome, thanks all!
  15. Thanks! Tracks would be awesome. Sounds like a perfect loop.
  16. I'm considering swapping out my Harley for a middleweight ADV. Curious to know what the go-to ADV loops are out of Oceanside. I've got a decent amount of MX and desert racing experience, so looking for something a little spicier than basic dirt roads (although maybe not full hard-enduro style). I am very familiar with Ocotillo, Ocotillo Wells, Pine Valley, Corral Canyon, Lark, etc. All the OHV spots. I am curious what decent street/dirt mixed loops are out there with stops for beer/food breaks along the way. Bikes in consideration are Tenere 700 and Tuareg 660. Thanks all!

Sandblast Hare & Hound, who's going?

Eh you'll be good. Courses at Superstition are easier than PCE and PCW. Mix of everything. Sand, rocks, tight, wide open. 66 miles is relatively short compared to some of the other formats, so it's a good intro race. The nice thing about running two loops instead of the same loop multiple times is the expert classes won't blow by you at 300 mph doing a wheelie. Fun to see, but catching their roost with your helmet gets old. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Dead engine start. If you're not trying to be competitive, you can always slow roll off the start and let the pack thin out. Enjoy the dust! On my YZ450 I run a 14t up front for everything except Glamis. That would be my suggestion for D38, otherwise you'll find the top of 5th gear really quick in the open sections. Races are fun. Go race.
  19. Does anyone know if the Valley of the Moon is accessible by OHV? It looks like there are trails there, and I see some web pages indicating that Jeep trails exist in the area...but I've also seen it's potentially a BLM Wilderness Area with no vehicle access. Looking to ride from the Jacumba Shell Station to the Gravity Wall/VotM. Any input appreciated. Thank you!
  20. To clarify, I have a plated KTM 500. Perhaps "OHV" was the wrong terminology.
  21. So are the OHV routes clearly marked? Stay on trail and we're all good?
  22. Surely someone in this group has some property and a Bobcat. Make it a minibike race and I'll join on my wife's TTR-125. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
  23. I've ridden in the park a little over the years but never really got familiar with it. Most of my riding these days is at the track or just about everywhere else in SoCal aside from AB. Can someone provide a couple pins to decent staging areas to start from? Any major landmarks or boundary roads nearby would help me get the lay of the land. I'm not afraid of hard areas. 500 EXC. Thanks!

    Las Vegas ideas ?

Hit up Speed Vegas and go jump a Trophy Truck or lap a supercar. A little spendy, and I've not done it, but it's worth a look.
