Thanks again Jim! I'll check the GoPro footage for the BP near miss and birds of prey...military chopper and eagle.

    Pushing Bike Up Ramp

I'll be the cameraman. You can back up to your driveway so your trucks rear wheels are at the curb and that would set the rear of truck at its lowest point. If you live on narrow street and can't block the street then drive up your driveway and stop so rear wheels are at curb. Batman doesn't need ramps.
  4. I'm not saying it can't be done in a 2wd. A few years ago I did a poker run thru that area in a 2wd ranger...but it had all terrain type tires, regeared with limited slip and i was already familiar with the area. I drive that area alot in a 4wd and i often test/challenge myself to see how far i can go in 2wd.
  5. Zubb, The roads into the campgrounds like Blair and Bow Willow are doable in a 2wd Tahoe. The other roads not so much. I really can't speak for anything north of Blair campground, but i know that every primitive road south of that would require either skill and right equipment in a 2wd or preferably 4wd.

    Budget GPS?

Garmin 60cx, noob friendly unit for a good price. http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/garmin-60cx-gps-w-ram-mount.1209089/
  7. Interested. I've driven around in a 4x4 out there, always wanted to do it on 2 wheels.

    Found GoPro on Otay Mt

Someone on ADVRider found a GoPro...here's the post. Looks like it belonged to a guy riding a GS 1200 and he had a buddy on a new Husky 701. http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/found-gopro-otay-mountain.1207618/

    MRP Tire Station

I went from a bucket on the garage floor to the Tusk tire changer...very similar to the MSR changer. I was pretty quick and efficient with the bucket, but a stand is definitely the way to go. Less time wrenching, more time riding. Not trying to hijack Bags thread but check out the Rabaconda for 3 minute tire change with mousse. Pretty popular in the enduro world. Doesn't sit as high as the MRP though.
  10. Insane! Sportsmanship at it's best.
  11. I was about to add the $2 daily Mexico service to my Verizon plan but upgraded to "The New Verizon Plan". For just under $10 more a month I'm getting 12gb of data instead of 10gb, carrryover data and Mexico/Canada service included. My plan has 2 phones w/shared data, might be less of an increase for single phone plan.
  12. Dunflop tires...did the tire fail? Flat? Or was it that wire you caught?
  13. Went for a short ride and watched part of the race. I stopped for someone on a plated black Husky that took a little spill. He said it was his first race and had just replaced his DRZ 400 with the husky. Later in the day I saw REACH Air taking off from Payne Rd and then another helo flying in towards the pits. Just wanna make sure that everyone involved is doing ok.

    Let's See Your Christmas Toys!!

Santa couldn't make it in time, but he sent me a sneak peek of what I'm getting in a couple of weeks.
  15. We'll be out at Superstition, taking the "small" bikes.
  16. Merry Christmas, Jim. Yeah, it's been a while...hopefully the new year will bring some Baja rides. Goofy, a Baja suv or truck with camper is ideal for staging further south. I'm hoping one day soon to find the time to drive down to Baja Sur and stage somewhere in my truck and ride around, then move on to the next staging spot.
  17. No bike trailers or joe hauler type racks allowed. The tailgate issue I was told is for the license plate reader. Both statements are very true. ABB is my nickname...All Business Benny.
  18. SENTRI is the way to go. I can't recall the initial cost but it is well worth it. I got mine about 6 or 7 years ago after going crazy while waiting almost 4 hrs to cross the border on a Sunday after Thanksgiving. You can have more than 1 vehicle registered as long as it's in your name. You can cross in a friends/family members vehicle that has SENTRI...friends and family with SENTRI can cross in your vehicle as well. If you're not in a SENTRI registered vehicle you can still cross thru the "READY" lane, which is for newer type entry docs. No trailers attached to vehicle, bike in back of truck is ok as long as the tailgate is closed. Vehicle is inspected prior to registering, both license plates are required to be mounted. There's probably other things I'm forgetting but I'm fighting the sleep monster right now at work.

    Difficult Climbs

Not my video, but here's a good clip of what's out there.
  21. That's not the first time either. They had one lose a blade before and another one caught fire last year. They were probably put together on a Friday before a long holiday weekend.
  22. The plan was to drop off the kids at school and take the 1hr drive to ABDSP for the Breakfast Club south loop ride. Well, the kids were running a little late this morning. So I drop them off and start heading out of town when I realize I had forgotten my wallet at home....true story Bags. By now ETA to staging point is almost 9am. I figured the guys would've been ready to go and I didn't want them waiting around for me while I unload and suit up. I decide to stage east of Ocotillo and do a solo ride, as I was taking this pic EddieEarl texted me asking if I was going to make. Sorry man, running late. I ride around the north side of Ocotillo and head down to the tracks, then take Jojoba back to S-2. When I cross S-2 onto Dolomite Mine I start seeing dirtbike tracks and wonder if they were made by the Breakfast Club. Interesting find at the end of the road. I then ride down Mortero and see more dirtbike tracks. As I'm getting closer to the tracks I see a dust cloud and three little orange specks off in the distance. Could it be? Looking at EddieEarl's GPS tracks he posted up and texting him about it confirms it probably was them. I ride back towards Ocotillo and take a break under the tracks. I guess someone thinks anarchy and dirtbikes go good together. How does this happen? Put in a little over 50 miles and I kinda, sort of did get to ride with the Breakfast Club.
  23. I was on that freq, but I didn't have it plugged in when I caught a glimpse of you guys. Hopefully there will be a next time.
