  1. No one from SDAR showed up today but the Blue Angels did. They put on an awesome air show for everyone at Superstition for a couple hours. I almost jumped of the bike once as I came over the top of Sand Dam a F-18 pops off a sonic boom a couple hundred feet over head. Jim and I rode Super from 6:30 - 12 when it started getting warm out. Stop and rode McCain - Lark for a few hours on the way home. Probably 15 degrees cooler up there. No spills for us today. Just lots of good times.
  2. Not big bike friendly. Were on 450 and 250 MX bikes. Mix of dunes, rock gardens, mud hills, jeep trails. Intermediate pace. Kenny
  3. Edit. Superstition. Wheeler Rd about 5 miles in just past the info board on the left near the dunes. 7am. Ride until its to hot to ride. Black F150. Kenny
  4. Tried my best to get from Ocotillo to In-Co-Pa. Solo. Never made it all the way, not from lack of trying. My findings Found lots of very soft sand. Lots of natural road blocks - land slides - boulders. Several species of Cactus which I had never been stuck by prior to today. Lots of single track with no tracks but mine. Naked men hiking and holding hands. And other beautiful scenery. Yes - I will try this again, next time I will start from the top and work down. No - I wont try this ride solo again. Spent the rest of the day exploring Ocotillo. Amazing. Rode from 8am till 4pm today. I'll sleep like a baby tonight. Kenny
  5. Lets wait for cooler weather and do it.
  6. No fair. That was almost a year ago.
  7. Darren- 350's not allowed.. I get a lot of enjoyment out of watching you pick up that big Husky.
  8. Bob, i'll pass on the KLR, but thanks buddy.
  9. Yes, we need a fearless leader. Down hill is a good idea. I made it to Moutain Spings on foot after 20 minutes of hiking. Don't think I could have made it much farther even on a trials bike. The boulders got pretty serious. Kenny
  10. I'll ride with you. Been looking for someone to ride sand with. My 14 RMZ450 wont quite hang with the mighty 500 but I can stay close. We've been riding Superstition or Glamis or Gordons Well almost every weekend. PM me if you want to go or post a ride. I'm down for desert every weekend until it gets to hot out.
  11. Ty, I will try it again but need 2 trucks and start from the top and go down.
  12. Been itching to ride the washes that you see from I-8 as you head down the grade to the desert and head east and see how far up we can get.. Start near the gas station or old abandoned service station at the ocotillo exit. There will be lots of sand and rocks. Intermediate pace. Lots of breaks if needed. I can drive from Alpine if you want to load in my truck. Prefer to be riding by 7am. Kenny
  13. Go with me Chad. I figured out how to get over my fear of riding sand. Ride lots and lots of sand.
  14. Jim and I had a blast. Saturday. Kickstands up at Glamis about 8:30. Amazing weather, some moisture in the sand, very small crowds. We rode the big stuff all day, big bowls, big dunes including Lizzard HIll and China wall. Burned 3 1/2 tanks of gas each, probably 7-8 hours of actual riding. Slept so good in a cheap motel in Yuma $38 Sunday kickstands 6am up at Gordons Well. We had the place to ourselves until about 10am when we saw one family on quads. Rode the steepest hardest stuff we could find until noon. No spills, lots of thrills.
  15. Those are redneck ramps. And they're 2 for $20.
  16. Dune trip Saturday and Sunday. Not decided on where were camping yet but let me know if you want to ride with us. Paddle tire mandatory. We're riding 450 MX dune shredders. Kenny
  17. Edit. Glamis Saturday. Cheap motel in Yuma Saturday night. Gordons Well Sunday.
  18. Never been there, anyone want to join us and show us around or go exploring with us. Were on 450 MX bikes. Intermediate pace. Kenny

  20. Yes, I need a plated bike. I just feel I'd be bored with anything less than my RMZ450 very quickly. Probably going to be a 650R in my garage soon.

  22. We are down for a Saturday or Sunday ride. Non Plated. Usually good for 5-6 hours. Kenny
