Yes, I believe so. We went up last night. It was beautiful.I guess your talking about the trail across from the ore crusher
but I don't remember the shack... Guess I'll have to switch my Alpinestars for my hiking boots and go exploring

Tar paper shack???
Yes. I found it on Youtube last year. Remember where the old rock cabin once stood in Deer Park? (Can't believe they tore it down.) It's in that general area but on the opposite side of the road. It's a tiny, overgrown trail that dead ends at an old, broken down two-track wooden bridge. Shack is just beyond the bridge. Mine nearby.

Love the route. Was the mine in Deer Park? Did you see the tar paper shack?

Thanks Robert. I used that clutch-as-rear-brake technique to chicken out of a drop-off at CC last time I was there. I really needed to keep my right foot down. I think I read about it here.

Loved that one!

I have an old bike with a new carb. I have heard that gas additives destroy soft parts, therefore I should run my carb dry when I park it at night. On the other hand, I heard that drying out the carb makes soft parts age prematurely and become brittle.
The bike never sits for more than a few days at a time. What should I do?
Thanks!

Oh man, so sorry. I pray that you heal fast and completely.

I gave up camping down there after we were robbed (burglarized) in LA Bay. But I must admit I drool over the ride reports. It seems the kind of riding you guys do in Baja is a lot different (safer) than what this poor victim was doing on the mainland. He was an easier target (living off the bike) in a really bad area.
It's just a drag that everyone who lives down there knows that every American down there is unarmed.

Sooo righteous.

Hmmm. What is this "Cameron TT?" Is it east of Buckman? Gotta check it out.

We camped at Corral a couple weeks ago and forgot the pass. Raced to PV and back in the morning for a day pass. Saw the ranger on the way out. We made it back in time, but I think she only checked Bobcat, then left.

I hope you guys have a great, safe trip!

That is really cool. Have you tried the jaw mount? I tried the top mount, but the dust was blinding. Wondered if jaw was any better. After talking with Goofy Footer I made this simple set up to go in my GoPro mount. Very bright and the light is only about $30.00 on EBay.

Yes. Tntmo is correct about my bike. I should stick with my forks and start by trying to find out what springs I have.

Oh my goodness; that is awesome!

My neighbor is talking about selling his DR350, he just had George do a bunch of work to the suspension. I can see if he'd be interested in a suspension swap with you before he sells it. It's way better than stock now.
Wow Tom, That does sound interesting. The PO claimed that my suspension had been customized for the desert. But I have no idea what I have - and nothing to compare. This is the only "real" bike I've ever had. I probably need someone to ride mine who knows what it should feel like. I do know that my bike sags more than other bikes I have ridden. I can't complain too much about that as my legs are pretty short.
-
I should just have you look at it. I'm wondering of the PO already changed the springs.

Cool. Thanks - you guys are awesome!
